Activist James OKeefe has agreed to pay $100,000 and express regrets to a former National City ACORN worker who was secretly videotaped in a conservative sting operation in 2009.
The worker, Juan Carlos Vera, sued OKeefe and cohort Hannah Giles for their visit to the ACORN office pretending to be a pimp and prostitute. Giles settled the claim filed against her last summer.

Our tax dollars go to ACORN but we can’t monitor them? Nice work if you can get it.
Is there a legitimate, accountable, audited defense fund for O’Keefe? I’d throw a few bucks his way.
So would I. This is a travesty.
F*** ACORN. Let them burn in Hell, their earthly ashes scattered to the four winds. This young couple stuck their necks way out and exposed this group of whale s**t for who and what they were.
I say we get a class-action suit going against ACORN for their part in the collapse of the housing industry!
Their “To Each Their Home” crap brochure illustrates that they bullied banks to give loans to those who couldn’t possibly pay them back; “income” was based on welfare, food stamps and child support payments.
Print out a hard-copy of their POS brochure for posterity:

The criminals go free, and sue because they are exposed and win...
Department of Just-us.
Looks to me the Government and Judical systems are defaulting on their authority.
I guess the MSM and whistleblower groups will side with....
ACORN... lolz
“ACORN Housing took credit for developing several innovative strategies to get around pesky traditional lending guidelines, which were unfair because they were geared to middle class borrowers.
Instead of using passé measures of creditworthiness such as, say, credit history and having an adequate income, ACORN convinced lenders to adopt more flexible underwriting criteria that take into account the realities of lower income communities. Henceforth, some banks serving inner cities would accept less traditional income sources such as food stamps. (See Foundation Watch, November 2008.) “

They always say truth is the best defense.
What I saw in that video was the truth. It is a measure of just how far this country has fallen, where instead of shock at what we saw being done with our taxpayer dollars, we get apathy and open support of it.
And demonization of the person who brought it to light.
Liberalism at its best.
Don’t pay it unless the employee goes to prison for fraud.
As usual, no good deed goes unpunished.
I’m not the least bit surprised that the guilty are rewarded and the hero gets skun. that’s the way it works in a land ruled by an organized criminal syndicate.
At the time I thought that it was stupid of them to reveal their identities; It’s a miracle that these kids didn’t end up in federal prison in solitary like Ramos & Compean (anyone heard from them recently?) did, or tortured and cut to pieces on the side of the road like those who get in the way of the Mexican cartels. If he keeps it up (which he apparently is doing) he might yet.
We either stand with James OKeefe or we fail ourselves.
Up is down and down is up.
It’s called the new normal.
I won’t ever adjust.
If O’Keefe chooses to appeal, he should be able to get a reversal since, Vera, acting as a counselor for ACORN, had what the court calls “dirty hands”.
If not . . . . . . is this a great country, or what (if you’re a lying, thieving cheating bastid)!!
“I say we get a class-action suit going against ACORN for their part in the collapse of the housing industry!”
Excellent idea.
I’ve long been miffed at why the banks (seemingly) just stood quiet while all the blame was put on them for making the sub-prime loans. Personal threats, perhaps?
Would the likes of Mark Levin can show is the way.
Maybe Juan Carlos Vera will wake up dead.
The judiciary is obviously just as crooked as the media. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? At this point, they both need to be cleaned up. It’s not going to happen via elections or politics. How WILL it happen? If it doesn’t happen, the country is history.
