Gun Industry Dilemma: Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now?
Hart\ford Courant ^ | April 6, 2013 | Dan Haar

Posted on 04/07/2013 4:37:56 AM PDT by Daffynition

At the moment when Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed into law what might be the nation's strictest gun controls, Jonathan Scalise was on the phone with his accountant.

It's not that Scalise didn't care what Malloy was up to. On the contrary, the sweeping law will affect him about as much as any business owner. His company, Ammunition Storage Components, is one of the largest makers of bullet magazines for semiautomatic weapons — and most of his products are now illegal in the state where his father and grandfather owned machine shops before him.

Now, the family's homegrown tradition is in peril.

It’s well-known...but it wouldn’t hurt to write.

Move down here to Alabama. We will welcome them with open arms. Our state senate just put through a new bill that will allow OPEN carry of weapons. I would love to have the gun makers move from the commie north down here to a place where we could build and USE them. Come on down.

Good point about alcohol caused deaths. Bring back Prohibition. If it saves one life, it will be worth it.

So now I have to drive to NH or VT to buy magazines?

Yeppers. We go on booze, cigs, fireworks, hardware store stuff, gas fill-up to NH every 4-5 weeks..adding ammo to the shopping list. I think you’re closer than me...you must be under an hour.

Sure, gun owners will avoid buying from companies with factories in commie states. But conservatives, in general, will avoid business and tourism in the commie states as well.
Even if conservatives are a minority in the US as a whole, the trend towards self selection, with conservatives concentrating in red states is an important development in resistance to tyranny.
Furthermore, conservatives need to make the red states less attractive to the migrating Leftist locusts that relocate to red states for tax and job reasons. This could be accomplished by enacting strong pro-2A laws, pro-life and pro-marriage laws, as well as prosecution of welfare cheats and tough standards to qualify for welfare.

Just about once I get to I-91N. The disease that has infected Connecticut is so sad. It was once a great state; now it’s a socialist dump

Colt (commercial and defense), Ruger, Stag Arms, Widley Arms, U.S. Firearms, O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Charter Arms, Atlantic Firearms, and others need to leave CT as fast as possible.

The gun manufacturers should make it very public they are moving out of CT and WHY they are moving. The gun manufacturers should also make it known that: (1) all of the salaries they used to pay highly skilled, and now unemployed workers, plus (2) the taxes those former employees used to pay (as well as their former employer's taxes) will no longer be paid to CT greedy politicians.
