Vanity: Shortage of Farm Workers?...
Bay news 9

Posted on 04/14/2013 1:34:09 PM PDT by kas7351

I just watched the local news here in Tampa. They had a segment stating that we have a shortage of workers to work the farms. They interviewed the owner of a strawberry farm and he mentioned that due to the shortage of immigrants being allowed to enter this country, he doesn't have enough workers.

Guess the people on unemployment or that have dropped out of the workforce are too good to pick strawberries? Guess they would rather get the handouts!

What on earth are you talking about?
***I asked you explicitly:
Are you saying that you’d be willing to be named in a RICO lawsuit that generates treble damages? If so, how do we reach you?

You’re mad at me because an American thought he could trade on his blond hair and patriotism to sucker me into overpaying for work.
***No, I’m mad at the lack of enforcement of immigration law that in effect, allows the undergirding of wages to such an extent that even supposedly legal aliens are working for the crap wage you paid them.

The immigrants did it cheaper. They were probably immigrants because they spoke Spanish. But there is no evidence — none — they were here illegally.
***It does not matter. The fact that there are millions of illegal immigrants drives down the wages of the legal ones and the blonde haired americans you’re so fond of denigrating.

“the crap wage you paid them.”

$12,000 for four days for five guys is an excellent wage.

Please refrain from calling farmers jerks; a good percentage have college degrees. Farmers work hard in the hot sun and dirt, bearing massive crap from a crooked government, to feed Americans at as low a price as possible; otherwise, it would all be imported. If you had to feed yourself, you’d probably starve in three months. If you have a better way, show us; talk is cheap, especially when coming from most metro-sexuals who don’t know crap about farming. I think most farmers pay their help better than restaurants; if you insist farmers pay even higher wages, then you will just have to pay more to eat or eat less; it’s mox-nix to me.

$75/hr sounds great until you realize that it’s $65/hour in materials.

What about upwards of 30-40 million illegals your govenrment welcomed into this country...

Would they too rather collect those handouts?

‘until he got sick to death of slackard, meth-using, low-life, beer-fed, did I mention lazy and immoral? low-life white guys’ (reasoning inserted).

So, he wasn't a good judge of character until he got workers that had no other options?

RHS Jr, I have never referred to the farmers as jerks.... I know farmers and have total respect for them, they work hard and struggle to make a living.

The people that I have a problem with, is the people who won’t put in an honest days work for honest pay. The people who would rather sit at home and collect the hand outs that the govt buys votes with.
