In the immediate aftermath of the tragic Newtown murders, Obama and His Media joined forces to exploit the deaths of innocent children for all it was worth -- with a series of laws that would have done absolutely nothing to stop the very crime they were exploiting. This naked political move to leverage the murder of innocents as an excuse to attack the National Rifle Association and gun owners, who live predominantly in red states, is about as cynical and craven as it gets.
According to Politico, though, all this soul selling is likely to come to nothing. Politico reports on Tuesday that the gun control bill Obama, liberal Democrats, Piers Morgan, Chuck Todd, and all of CNN want so desperately to pass "has little if any, chance of passing this Congress – it’s struggling in the Senate and facing outright rejection in the House."

How craven were the media's politics during all of this? So craven that when the NRA's Wayne LaPierre suggested we guard school children from gun-carrying maniacs, the media publicly ridiculed him. My god, the media was despicable. And driven only by a seething hatred and bigotry towards a culture they have never bothered to try to understand.

We have a number of Senators that will lie to your face before the vote and then get a friggin’ “conscience” and vote yes (I had to do it for the children).

Essentially the government extremists want law abiding citizens like me to become disarmed because of some mentally unfit progressives like Loughner, Holmes and Lanza go on mass murder sprees, WTF?

A politico guy reported that this bill was dying on Monday on MSNBC and I posted it in a comment, HE said 40% chance of passing then.
Obama’s second term record :
1) Demanding sequester tax INCREASES (failed)
2) Demanding a number of new Federal gun control measures(failed)
I agree with writers premise, Obama propped up and encouraged the Sandy Hook Moms to go out and cry on commercials and on TV to pass his gun ban agenda, and he failed.
The media is nothing more than the propaganda ministry of the democratic party. I hope Andrew Breitbart's words are proven right: 'all this will be gone in ten years' (referencing the msm).

If the clowns that are not voting for it because they’re in precarious positions in their home states and using that as the reason, they need to lose in any case. The fact that they would even consider voting yes under other circumstances shows they are not fit to hold office anyway. Just shows they have no principles and aren’t trustworthy anyway.
Most Americans without guns in their homes are deathly afraid of home invasions.
Does anyone else find it strange that after Sandy Hook POTUS makes a Gun Ban push and then we have the Boston fiasco to try and seal the deal. I wonder whats next, wag the dog will do it.

Todd is basically stupid and evil, but since the paycheck conservatives in DC are essentialy harem eunuchs they stick to debating abstract minutae and not holding these enablers accountable. Its as if the allies at Nuremberg debated socialism versus capitalism, WTF we need a new conservative set of leaders.

I rejoined the NRA since this whole issue resurfaced because they are proving to be just about the only organization with the cajones to take on the leftists. They came out after the shooting and apologetically said the best solution is to protect the school with weapons to kill the crazies. When they showed that, I realized they were committed to win the public. That’s exactly what happened...and despite the 24/7 onslaught of the entertainment media.
If more groups acted like the NRA, we wouldn’t be dealing with a failing government.
