Amazing New Details from the Chase for the Boston Bombers Daniel Halper April 20, 2013 11:56 AM

The police chief of the Watertown police department shares amazing new details of the chase for the Boston bombings suspects from Thursday night into Friday evening:

The police chief, Edward Deveau, describes how cops nearly apprehended the older suspect, and were placing handcuffs on him in the middle of the street Thursday night, when the younger suspect came at officers in a carjacked SUV. The cops were able "to dive out of the way," and the younger suspect then continued to drive directly over his brother and dragging him through the street. That's how the older suspect died, according to the police chief.

The younger suspect eventually dumped the SUV and ran into the darkness of the night, according to the police chief. It took nearly 18 hours and massive manhunt to find the younger suspect. He gave himself up after a 20-minute negotiation with the FBI, he said, but not before the suspect fired more rounds at the authorities.

The bombers were armed with "pipe bombs and explosives," some of which appear to have been homemade hand-grenades. They had "at least 6 bombs, if you will," says the chief. They also had a some guns.

The chief also says that "there was a major explosion in the middle of the gun fight" between officers and the suspects, Thursday night, when a pressure cooker bomb, like the ones used in the Boston Marathon bombings, went off in the residential area.

The interview with the police chief took place today on CNN.

He killed his brother. The cult of Islam bears bitter fruit.

Awesome. I hope that's the scene that played over and over in his mind while he lay in the boat dying.

dragging him through the street

The leaked corpse photos showed some gunshot type injuries and some sort of internal injuries around the face and neck. I did not see abrasion.

Their daddy says they were framed and the coward cops murdered his son.

Mom is a pro shoplifter.

This is the kind of family immigration reform aims to bring to America

Practical reason — dead terrorists don’t talk.

Me too, or if it’s just an urban legend in the making. We should wait to see if it’s confirmed by other sources.

I am not sure about the scenario that driving over him is how he was killed. The Chief Surgeon at the Hospital described his body as having multiple gunshot and shrapnel wounds. My guess is they may have been trying to handcuff him in the street, but he was probably already near death.

Who knows but that it might be part of their plan? Along the lines of no matter what, if one of us is captured the other does whatever necessary to kill the captured brother?

Seems like something that would make sense since they had to figure it caught alive they might be subject to “advanced interrogation techniques”.

I heard that the older brother had gotten out of the SUV and tried to throw an explosive device at the police, but it detonated in his hand. The police tackled him, and that’s when the younger brother drove at the police. They got out of the way and he drove over his brother and left. The whole situation left them both short handed.

Authorities say he died of cardiac arrest at the hospital, not in the street.

Where do these people get their money — no one seems to be employed. Yet we have expensive cars all around — nice dressing by the older boy. Follow the money — or lack of it.

Lots of misinformation. I would like to know how these two brought along rifles and bombs and yet, I have read that the SUV was carjacked at knifepoint.

Were they just walking down the street with all this stuff and then decided that a vehicle would be better?

Unless they were carrying a duffle bag, there’s a lot that doesn’t add up.

Further, did they originally plan their escape on foot with the intentions of stealing a vehicle? Or not?

There seems to be too many media sources with very few in possesion of the basic tools of the trade...

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been more successful in removing terrorists from US soil than Obama. He currently leads 1-0

Or any of it, for that matter. The only thing we know for sure is that three people died and over 170 were injured. Dozens lost legs, feet...the toll is too grim to contemplate. A day of triumph transformed into tragedy. Meanwhile, the puppet masters pull the strings of emotion to manipulate a traumatized city into submitting to martial law. It doesn't matter who really planted the bombs. The end result is always the same: The government gains more power, and we lose ever more of our freedom.

We saw how a major metro area will obey the authorities if they are made to feel scared.
