This NewsBuster is in no position to say that the FBI made a mistake by deciding not to monitor Tamerlan Tsarnaev after having interviewed him in 2011, acting on inquiries from Russian intelligence regarding his possible radical Islamic ties.
But by the same token, MSNBC host Alex Witt is in no position to say the FBI didn't make a mistake. Yet Witt has pre-emptively proferred an excuse for the FBI's decision. Speaking with investigative reporter Michael Isikoff on her show this afternon, Witt, alluding to the FBI's decision not to monitor Tzarnaev, declared: "hindsight is 20-20."

Why wasn’t he at least considered a top suspect after the bombing? They had video of the suspects. he would be a close match facial features, body weight, age, height.

The FBI is no longer the outfit portrayed by Efrem Zimbalist Jr. years ago. It is a diluted P.C. joke.
I'm pretty sure he was. In fact they chased him down and killed him. If you are implying that every single person ever questioned by law enforcement should be maintained in an active surveillance database and monitored 24/7/365 then you are advocating a police state that I am certainly not interested in living in. Only the tinfoil crowd will be suggesting that the FBI let him go so he could commit mayhem. Whatever their reason for releasing him, the truth is hindsight IS 20/20. Newsbusters has recently been given to hyperbole. Business must be slow.
What an idiot. When you are at war with someone, the old “hindsight 20 20” bull**** goes out the window. You must investigate ALL intelligence that you receive about actions your enemy is about to make. Lives are at stake. It appears that we were warned and we blew it off. Big mistake.

He wasn’t even questioned after the bombing. They were hanging out and going about their daily routine for days. It was only when they robbed the 711 store they popped up on their radar screen. The younger brother went to a gym to work out after the bombing. FBI database shoulda came up with a close match to older brother, he matched the profile of who they were looking for based on the lord and taylor footage, to a T.
Number one they did not rob a 7-11. From what I recall they did a carjacking at a 7-11. Number Two the activity at the 7-11 was AFTER the photos were released to the public.
