Posted on 04/26/2013 6:00:31 PM PDT by AZamericonnie
When our first child was born, my wife, Marlene, was in labor for more than 30 hours, creating tremendous stress for both her and the baby. The doctor, a fill-in for her regular physician, was unfamiliar with her and her pregnancy. As a result, he waited too long to make the decision to perform an emergency Caesarean section, and the resulting trauma put our infant son in the neo-natal intensive care unit. There was nothing they could do to help our baby to overcome his trauma-induced condition.
By Gods grace, Matt recoveredbut I cannot remember any moment in my life as terrifying as when I stood by his crib in intensive care. Yet I knew the Lord was near as I talked with Him through prayer.
In the terrifying moments of life (and all the other moments as well) nothing can bring comfort to the hurting heart like the reality of Gods presence and care. The psalmist David wrote, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me (Ps. 23:4).
When fear is overwhelming, the Lord is there. His comforting presence will carry us through our deepest trials.
Read: Psalm 23

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.

Hi! Here ....(((HUGS)))
Where were you on Sunday, April 27, 1975?
My radio career had experienced a meteoric rise followed by an equally meteoric fall. Now I was working an entry level job in computers, and the exciting years of life were no more. It was time for a long grind that lasted over 30 years.
Lets cue the Rockumentary theme!
This debuted at #86 on the charts, and it would sit at #1 for a long time, becoming the biggest selling single of the year. It marked the return of Neil Sedaka as a songwriter after over a decade of silence.
It's Tunes For Our Troops Time!
WOW! Look at all you military boys all in a row....Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army, Navy!!
Our thanks to all of you!!
Hi Kathy...did things finally settle down at work today?
Warm enough for Mom to be able to plant anything? *Hugs*
Hiya Janie! *Hugs*
Did I read you had injured your arm?
Heard this on the news at work today.....RIP George. *sigh*
Good evening, Drumbo...((HUGS))
My Father told me their favorite song was “Lili Marlene”, even if was sung by a German woman.
He also said, Stars and Stripes did a poll among the soldiers and Roy Acuff was the favorite and by a good margin.
We live in extremes...the cold there & the heat here!

Hi - ya, a while back. It’s “tikitiboo” right now ... all better. Have to throw in Aussie strine ever so often. :D
Dudess! How is the weather up there in the wilderness?
Warm. Dry. Not one drop of rain since January.
I’m actually tired of pretty weather. LOL!
Good evening, Connie...*HUGS*
Much better today....very busy, but good progress. I am way behind on notes. We can’t keep any paper.
My Mom has started flowers inside...still freezing at night.
Did your day go well? Safe commute?
I love “He Stopped Loving Her Today”....I’m surprised I can listen here at work. So many places are blocked. I have it on “repeat”.
Thanks, Drumbo, for the tunes for the troops. ((HUGS))
Are you going to be on the show?
Kudos to Nicole, she’s obviously one smart cookie.
Good luck to Lance but I think he’s already a winner.
You gotta be one proud Poppa!
