No, she allowed someone to make a video of her having sex. That is where she messed up. I am amused at everyone’s derision. Have none of you ever looked at a magazine, Playboy perhaps, with only one thought in mind. It has pictures of nude women. Did you also think so lowly of them at the time you were enjoying their pictures?

. Pleeease. I have no problem with others taking nudie pictures or more....
And I don't care what any of them do in private.
Buuuuut...
Women who pose in magazines and appear in pornos make a conscious adult decision to do so and are usually paid for their participation. Afterwards, they may have regrets but they usually don't bat their eyelids and fein the "wounded, innocent virgin routine"
This lady also made a conscious adult decision to allow herself to be recorded in an intimate way.
Don't pretend this was like totally non consenting women, like Erin Andrews, the sportscaster who was in her own room undressing and some pervert was filming her without their consent.
Last but more important, she was IN THE ARMY where THERE IS NO EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY.
Especially on PATROLS.Yeah it sucks a third party prev stole her property and he/she should be brought up on the appropriate charges, but please, as an adult, she realized the situation, and should have destroyed or secured the embarrassing images.
I have warned my nieces(and nephews) to never do anything in private that you would be ashamed to admit in public. Too bad this "soldier" didn't follow this advice.

I agree that people do make mistakes and some mistakes aren’t worth a lifetime of punishment.

“Illegal” not Wrong is a law thing.
Well, technically you are correct. I do see them as flip sides of the same coin, though. After all, outside the law, “wrong” is a subjective term.

she did wrong
In my post, I almost said “law and God”, but decided to keep it simple.
Morality is subjective. Depends on the person. Christians have different moral compasess than abortionists and homosexual marriage advocates.
What she did was wrong in as much as it was legal but it violated the predominant morals. It was wrong in that it hurt her. It was no more wrong than the act being recorded, though.
That’s the problem here. That is why, though I condemn her behavior, I also condemn the hypocricical behavior of those shaming her.
But I condemn neither her nor them, only the activity. As a Christian, that is the only authority God has given me.

I have no power to condemn, I can only say she got what she deserved for her horrible actions. If she did “nothing wrong” then why is she so ashamed of it?

I’m doing something I hate when others do it. I’m arguing semantics instead of the real issue. What is comical is that I’m a huge fan of returning our culture to the concept of shame for inapropriate acts.
IOW, at the core, I completely agree with you.

Getting caught like that was almost karmic, if you believe in that sort of thing.
Shame needs to make a come back.

The first one I remember had something to do with chocolate chip cookies, and it really bothered me.
