They keep talking about the tornado in 99, very seldom mention the one in 2003, almost as big. The one in 2003 went down my mother’s street. Thankfully, her house and the ones on either side were fine, with a lot of window, roof, and debris damage. Houses all around were gone.
This time it missed her but went over a cousins house, again, thankfully the house is ok, but roof, broken windows, and debris.. Actually blew a case of bullets though her kitchen windows.
I always thought OK was like Los Angeles where the water tables was 7 feet down. No? WTF!

That’s what I thought, that it’d be all clay and bedrock. Apparently not, so there’d have to be drainage, sealing of structure and pumps installed.
Floating slab, drainage, sump-pump holes, sealed inside/outside concrete walls, even before the first floor goes on.
If they could do that for $2,200, as the Fox article says, that’s a bargain. My guess is that it’d be 3-4x more.
