Leon Panetta telegraphed to our enemies an image of incompetence of U.S. forces. Panetta's testimony was an insult to the U.S. military. Elite forces go through constant, grueling training to be able to do what Panetta and Gates say they cannot do. One of the purposes of "special operators" is deterrence. Panetta and Gates undermined that deterrence.

Maybe "our' enemies and Panetta's 'enemies' are NOT the same groups. Seems the 'show of force' was to prove 3 or 4 well placed people could cripple the United State military. And that those same 3 or 4 well placed people could effectively lie about it to the American people. In short, the UNITED STATES military was castrated. Maybe to find out who would object?

Panetta didn't get to the spot he's in by accident... he's a bright guy.

The horror done to the military was intentional.

Panetta and Gates had full knowledge of alternatives. They chose to allow the men on the ground die. They chose to lie about it to the American public. The enemy was allowed to win - with full understanding to those in the world watching... Like a nuclear 'test' done to 'prove things' to friends and enemies alike.... this was a test.

The United States was under attack and every SCIF Conference room in not only the U.S. miltary (land and Sea) but probably some Canadian, Australian, British and some others watched in real time also.

Someone was shown our military can be castrated easily. The next time it might be a lot more deaths... maybe millions - while our military sits on their hands ...

panetta misled and lied. hillary misled and lied. obama ordered a stand down and lies. The stand down order is still holding back our Military. Our Military could have killed these attackers not only on that night of the attack but (best guess) our Military could have killed them several times since that night. Military Intelligence is not as stupid as not to know where these attackers are.
