Rookie Police Officer Shot Fort Worth Homeowner Six Times

Many Americans think we live in a country of rights and especially of self protection via the Castle Doctrine. They are wrong. We live in a police state where you pay their wages and they decide if you live or die at their discretion.

Cops need to be restrained unless there is a definite threat to society by known felons and criminals. Rookies should be held accountable and supervised until they have some experience.

This 72 yo gentleman was shot 6 times by cops at the wrong address but on his own property, only because he was raising his garage door and they saw a firearm. The cops need to be prosecuted just as would citizens who recklessly shot another. I can see myself being a victim of the same atrocity only because I became involved in defense of a neighbor.

“...The cops need to be prosecuted just as would citizens who recklessly shot another....”
*****************************************************************
And these reckless cops need to be sued in civil court also. They need to spend the remainder of their lives have a portion of their earning withheld and sent to the victim’s survivors.

Let that become a lesson to the many other trigger-happy, stupid cops going into law enforcement.

I agree. While Austin’s police chief was in Washington with his nose up obama’s ass, his workers continue to shoot law-abiding citizens here, hiding behind mealy-mouthed excuses and continually “losing” or withholding dashcam videos of the events.

He wants to disarm us and I have to wonder why....no, I really don’t have to wonder why :)

I agree that a hefty jail sentence and financial ruin through civil judgment would be good punishment for these tyrannical cops. Sue the department as well as the city... this cannot continue.

There are no longer the good old boy neighborhood police.

I noticed a local deputy ran over a woman at the beach.

I was a bit surprised when the dept. declared the deputy at fault. Fortunately the woman was not seriously injured. She was hospitalized but released the next day.

Don’t worry, an internal investigation will clear the policeman of any wrong doing. Just like Holder’s self investigation.

The guy was told to put his weapon down and did but he picked it back up!
I have no feelings about the low life rookie that was scared s**tless that fired on him.
But the man should have waited for the area to be cleared to retrieve his weapon.
Rookies run scared all the time. I saw one in my home town, had an 80 year old Blue haired lady pulled over in a 60 modle VW he snuck up to her car on the driver side and unbuckled his service revolver! Looked like an improper lane change to me! I was surprised he didn’t need a change of shorts just to write the ticket.

Cops need to focus on their primary job:

Raising revenue for the welfare state.

The rookie was probably scared stiff. And you don't want to be holding a gun in sight of a cop -- that is really dangerous.

Nevertheless, it is clear that the rookie was poorly trained.

Both the shooter and his partner were 8 month rookies. Called to a house across the street for an accidental home security alarm. Across the street! The man was on his property inside his own garage and gets blown away. Shot six times in the chest. Six times!! The cop ran outta bullets.

I have no doubt these cops stories will jive and the shooter will be “officially exonerated.”

Since January of this year, four “alleged suspects” have been shot and killed-by-cop in Ft.Worth. Hey, these guys never need to go to the range for practice.

Someone above said they had no doubt that the rookie cop was scared shirtless. Yeah, he paobably was. So why assign to raw rookies to patrol together?? The shooter and his partner should have each been assigned to patrol with and follow the lead of an experienced LEO.

As America continues to descend into third world status cops will function more and more as death squads.

“We were deeply troubled by the police department misrepresenting details of the incident in their interviews with the media,” she said. “We would ask that the police refrain from providing details to the media until a thorough investigation has been completed, preferably by an independent body.

“We were disturbed by suggestions that police may have felt threatened by a man in his own garage faced with unknown trespassers wielding flashlights.”
