Edward Snowden, a 29-year-old former undercover CIA employee, unmasked himself Sunday as the principal source of recent Washington Post and Guardian disclosures about top-secret National Security Agency programs.

Snowden, who has contracted for the NSA and works for the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, denounced what he described as systematic surveillance of innocent citizens and said in an interview that “it’s important to send a message to government that people will not be intimidated.”

they have been collecting information on Rand Paul anybody associted with any Republican campaign for the last 4 years. This NSA scandal is the dirtiest thing ever done by a political opponent in US history. The dots need to be conected back to the WH.

They listened and spied in their opponents in the house and senate.

Seems that Holder when asked by Senator Kirk today had a great response.

“Can you assure us no members of the Capitol building were monitored?” asked Kirk. When Holder said he wouldn’t be able to answer that question in an “open forum,” Kirk interrupted him. “I think the correct answer is ‘we stayed within our lane and we did not spy on members of Congress.”

Reading the interview from this guy, I’m impressed by his bravery, regardless of his politics. He knows this will seriously shorten his life expectancy but did it anyway because it was right.

He could be working for Obama to undermine our intelligence capabilities.

I just watched this interfiew and am glad I did:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/09/nsa-whistleblower-edward-snowden-why

Well worth the time, Ed Snowden is no anonymous wikileaker, he’s got the courage to put his name and face out there and isn’t backing down one inch. The last sentence of the interview sums up his reasons succinctly:

“There’ll be nothing the people can do at that point to oppose it...it’ll be turnkey tyranny”.

Have you actually READ the Guardian report about this network?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/08/nsa-boundless-informant-global-datamining

It is clearly directed overseas, in particular towards countries like Iran. They use US internet records to assist in the investigation, with court orders, because that’s what they can get access to.

Except that, after the Patriot Act, they can use it for domestic data as well.

And, you’re assuming they’re not breaking the law in other ways as well. Like the IRS, FBI, DOJ, etc.

Because a foreign newspaper says so or do you have personal knowledge of such classified information?

The guy who is assuming something is you and people like you who are shockingly reflexive in deciding to embrace a traitor who lied when he took an oath to keep his agency’s secrets.

The things that were reported in that Guardian article are simply not that shocking to me.

I seriously doubt someone at the NSA yelled out last week “holy crap, TroutGuy just downloaded ‘Milf Nurses 16’ from Brazzers.com!”

Obama clearly used the IRS to target his political enemies, and there's a lot of anecdotal evidence to suggest he did the same with our intelligence agencies. This young man may have the proof needed to prove that fact... which will expose very high crimes.

Do your research before you pop off. The American people have been lied to. Repeatedly. We were promised oversight and there is none. The FISA court is a fraud. Now are Reps are in CYA mode and lying AGAIN. You don’t seem at all upset about that. That’s quite revealing to your agenda. So go ahead and park that attitude someplace else.
