If Pelosi’s a “Practicing Catholic” Why Can’t She Follow Church Abortion Teaching?

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi made more eye-rolling comments yesterday when she called defending legal abortions to the point of opposing a late-term abortion ban “sacred ground.”

“As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this,” Pelosi said about efforts to stop late-term abortions. “This shouldn’t have anything to do with politics.”

The head of a pro-life women’s group has a good question for Pelosi: If she is truly a “practicing Catholic” why can’t she support the Catholic Church’s pro-life teachings against abortions?

“As a mother and practicing Catholic, I have a modest proposal for Mrs. Pelosi: that she consider the Church’s teaching which says each life is sacred and reject the idea that each abortion is,” says Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List.

“As a practicing Catholic, Nancy Pelosi knows full well there’s no moral difference between the atrocities of Kermit Gosnell and abortions in the womb,” Dannenfelser continued. “She also knows that politics has everything to do with it: The bill she is trying to shut down – the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act — would protect these babies and women from the pain of late-term abortion.”

“Pelosi’s refusal to answer shows how scared she and the pro-abortion lobby are of the bill, which is exactly why they are trying to shut it down. They’ve seen the same polling we have: The majority of Americans reject late-term abortion,” Danenfelser added. “The bill is scheduled to hit the House floor next week – but it won’t if Pelosi and the pro-abortion lobby have their way. In fact, NARAL just sent out a national action alert urging their members to call their Representative and demand that the bill is not brought to the floor of the House.”

During the press conference, in response to a reporter’s question, Pelosi was upset to be asked about the gruesome abortions and intanticides done by Kermit Gosnell and indicated she opposes a bill a committee approved yesterday to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Pelosi falsely called the bill a ban on all abortions.

“They would make it a federal law that there would be no abortion in our country,” Pelosi said.

Below is the video of Pelosi’s remarks:

My understanding is that the official position is that she and those with her beliefs have “self-excommunicated”, so no official Church action or statement is necessary.

Pelosi is less of a Roman Catholic than I am.

Pelosi is a CINO. What she practices is more akin to Wiccan.

More to the point—why hasn’t she been excommunicated?

What’s it take to get ex-communicated?

I have no idea. After Teddy Kennedy's royal funeral I doubt it happens any longer. I think liberalism has spread so far and wide it is here to stay until the host (US) is devoured, and God puts a stop to this insanity. If you are of a mind read Joel 1 and 2, pretty much sums up the signs of the times.

"More to the point—why hasn’t she been excommunicated?"

That's a good question. Why, exactly, the Catholic Church doesn't flat-out excommunicate politicians who pass laws that conflict with Catholic and Christian mainstream doctrine to such an extent that it would have gotten them burned at the stake in an earlier era remains a mystery to this ex-Catholic.

Yet her ilk along with abortionists Biden, Cuomo and the majority of RATS in the house and senate march up each week to receive communion. Its time the Catholic Church cracked down on the hypocrites.........but they are too “mamby pamby” to do so.

“Why is she allowed communion?”

She condemns herself each time. The theory is that it is God’s job to take care of this.

Me, I think the theory is wrong and more forceful action must be taken.

If I had the authority, San Fran Nan would be thrown out of the Church so fast that her head would spin. Unfortunately, I don't have the authority to do that. If she was excommunicated, she'd probably spin it as a badge of honor; saying see was fighting for women's reproductive rights against the oppressive dogma of the Catholic Church. Sadly, a lot of her base in the San Francisco area agrees with Pelosi’s position on abortion.

Because she's a sinner in need of a Savior.

Desperate need, and doesn't seem to know it.

The more help Nanny the RED helps the women the more miserable they become. Why so many are beginning to act like the transgendered crowd. See based upon my observations Nancy loves Nancy and all that she can acquire through this flesh journey. Were she to really believe she would know the only thing she will return to the Maker with is her good works. He is the only one that really counts on the record keeping.
