In his new e-book, Robert Zimmerman Sr. blames black leaders for fanning racial flames.
With his son on trial for murder in the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, the father of George Zimmerman has published an e-book criticizing the case and calling some African-American leaders who called for his son's arrest racists. Robert Zimmerman Sr.'s book, Florida v. Zimmerman: Uncovering the Malicious Prosecution of My Son, George, was released on Friday at Amazon.com for $3.99.
Zimmerman writes at length about his background and his family's multiracial identity, seemingly to counter accusations that his son, a 29-year-old neighborhood-watch volunteer, was racially motivated to shoot the unarmed black 17-year-old last year. Zimmerman is white, and his wife is Hispanic.
"In the Zimmerman household, relatives, friends, neighbors and classmates were certainly a diverse, wholly accepted mix." He describes his son's prom date as "a lovely young lady ... They were an attractive couple. No one ever even considered the fact that George was Hispanic and the young lady happened to be black."
Zimmerman devotes a chapter to the racial overtones of the case that promise to further inflame the issue. In the chapter "Who Are the True Racists?" he accuses a number of black leaders and organizations of being racist. He also criticizes the attorneys representing the Martin family as being race-baiting schemers.
He writes that before the shooting, he believed that "generally racism was a thing of the past." But after the national outcry against his son, he says he realized that racism is "flourishing at the insistence of some in the African American Community."

Zimmermann absolutely did a lot of stupid things. Giving an interview against the advice of his lawyer. Doing a lot of things against the advice of his attorney. To say anything else is folly. If I am ever on the hook and do something like that, feel free to call me stupid. Should I not say that?

The Caucasian/Jewish-sounding surname Zimmerman is the reason we’re all here. If George’s last name was Gonzalez, the story wouldn’t have made it out of Seminole County.

The distinction of the US as a “country of laws” is presently on life-support with a very dim prognosis.
Things will get very interesting once the “rule of law” is abandoned completely.
Wilson was a big time racist ‘Progressive’. A real SOB.
One has to ask: “has any black defended Zimmerman or even given him the benefit of a doubt?”
The Zimmerman’s are no doubt “honest to a fault”, but I do believe George is innocent.
NOBODY gets a CHL to go shoot somebody.
It just doesn’t work that way.
CHL holders account for like .004% OF armed crime in Tx.
Sure, George inserted himself into a situation by taking on the mantle of neighborhood watch, but he did not beat himself up after he shot Martin.
This guy is innocent.
And this horsecrap about him not following the dispatchers orders in horsecrap.
No one is under any legal obligation to listen to the orders of some minimum wage dispatcher.
Zimmermann was under legal obligation to report the shooting and I believe he did so.
The Cops let him go.
That tells me that they were satisfied that he acted within the law.
It was not until the racial out cry that Zimmerman was incarcerated and charged with murder.
This is a racial circus.
The headline is inaccurate and meant to be inflammatory.
It implies RZ called ALL blacks racist,
while in fact he points to specific individuals and organizations that he considers to be racist.
Without law we become savages.
Where were the black leaders on the Wichita massacre?
Say anything you want.
But, again, I think Zimmerman acted in self-defense and, for me, that’s the end of the story.
Attacking Obama's worst enemy, I see.
The NAACP is possibly the most-racist major organization going today. It has outlived its legitimate purpose.
I have no doubt that as soon as black racists saw the name “Zimmerman,” they jumped the gun.
Uncomfortable truths are uncomfortable.
This headline doesn’t help by leaving out the word “leaders.”
This particular headline draws with too broad a stroke.
Indeed.
Doubtless, this is the end-game for the DemonRATS; but I don’t think they’ve thought it through completely. While visions of martial law, and Obama as King-for-Life, are dancing in their heads, there are no guarantees that events will proceed according to their script. I envision things getting out of hand very quickly and the monster turning on its creators.
Now... this girl is 'white'.
