Senate rejects border fence
The Washington Times ^ | June 18, 2013 | Stephen Dinan

Minutes after the border fence, senators also voted to weaken current law that requires the government to have biometric checks such as fingerprints or eye-scans for every visitor to the U.S. — a recommendation of the 9/11 commission that looked into the terrorist attacks on Washington and New York.

Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didn’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built.

The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bill’s authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it.

Why not just impeach all the anti-Americans that REFUSE to protect the country. That’s treason. Sounds simple to me. You don’t want a fence built means you could care less how many illegals break into the country........which of course includes terrorists wanting to kill Americans. So arrest these treasonous bastards and get on with building the fence. That includes the worthless POS sitting in the White House, who flatly refuses to protect the country from invasion.Lock his sorry ass up and throw away the key. Hell, we might as well live in a banana republic. There is no rule of law whatsover. Democrats, lead by the Muslim-in-chief use the Constitution as toilet paper and republicans refuse to do one damn thing about these anti-American goons.

Levin makes a living on the radio talking politics. He speaks for many of us and we often agree with him. He was sucked in hook line and sinker by Rubio.

Sure ultimately the people voted the guy in... but Levin played a big part in making that happen.

“...He was sucked in hook line and sinker by Rubio. ..”

Well, clearly he wasn’t alone.

Hell, I thought the guy was the real deal too, but he’s not from my state, so I had so say in the matter.

We could secure the border in a few days by moving the National Guard there. Isn’t that what they’re supposed to do...guard the Nation?

Wouldn't it be great if our elected officials cared as much about the integrity of our borders as they seem to care about the integrity of the borders of various third world would-be client states?

This is the India-Pakistani border seen from space. With a tenth of our GDP India has erected 1,156 miles of floodlights and will eventually have built 1,269 miles of fencing...

India-Pakistan-border

across terrain far more difficult and hostile than that between here and Mexico. A complete fencing system has already been passed not once, but twice, and has never been finished (last time due to purposeful fund-shorting courtesy of Kay Bailey Hutchinson). By law those enactments mandate completion of the too-long unfinished border barrier. India's example proves excuses of "it can't be done" are utter BS.

Someone should tell Marco Rhinio that this is no way to get the GOP nomination for president.

Obama says it's already secure. Can't these liberals make up their minds?

The GOP is so dead to me that it will be a pleasure to vote against it for a useless independent in 2016. I know that’s practically the same thing as voting Democrat, but the GOP is dead to me too.

Maybe Marco knows something we don’t know. Our little primary voters are so confused they may vote for Marco thinking they are really backing Jebbie.

I bought the line last time that “if you vote for a third-party, you are just wasting your vote” and I held my nose and voted reluctantly for Rino-Romney.

Never again. I will vote FOR someone, not AGAINST someone, or I will not vote at all.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
