I search for this and didn't see it, it is a good starting point for a political arguement.

RE: Ted Cruz: Abolish the IRS
Nice to hear that but let’s think for a moment... WE STILL NEED A REVENUE COLLECTING AGENCY.
So, put your thinking caps on and PROPOSE a system that de-fangs the IRS, making it IMPOSSIBLE to harass ordinary citizens, yet, allow revenue collection.
Don’t just shout slogans. Slogans sound nice but it won’t resonate without a good counter-proposal.

Agree with this... Ted Should get some security, even if he has to pay out of pocket for it and has to eat nothing but Ramen noodles to pay for it.

Even if we switch to tariffs and NRST there will still be a collection agency unless the states collect it for the Treasury Dept. Which is an ok idea too.

A flat tax would clear out 75% of the IRS.

Excerpt:
I think we ought to abolish the IRS and instead move to a simple flat tax where the average American can fill out taxes on postcard, he explained in a Fox News interview over the weekend. Put down how much you earn, put down a deduction for charitable contributions, home mortgage and how much you owe. It ought to be a simple one-page postcard, and take the agents, the bureaucracy out of Washington and limit the power of government. Cruz proposed a flat tax during the 2012 election, but he said he would keep a standard deduction for lower-income earners, as well as deductions for mortgage interest and charitable donations.
