Candidate Marco Rubio in 2010: An 'Earned Path to Citizenship is Basically Code for Amnesty' June 21, 2013 - 12:28 AM By Terence P. Jeffrey

(CNSNews.com) - When former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio was running for the Senate in 2010--as a conservative candidate backed by the Tea Party movement--he insisted that illegal aliens inside the United States would need to go home and that giving illegal aliens "an earned path to citizenship," such as his opponent Gov. Charlie Crist, former President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain had advocated, was nothing more than a "code for amnesty."

Rubio, who won that 2010 election, is now the leading Republican in the U.S. Congress pushing for illegal aliens to be given the earned path to citizenship that he himself insisted was "code for amnesty" only three years ago.

Rubio's declaration that to allow illegal aliens to stay in the United States and get on a pathway to citizenship was in fact amnesty came in an Oct. 24, 2010 debate hosted by CNN's Candy Crowley and Adam Smith of the St. Petersburg Times.

"So, your plan is that you're going to close the borders, get the electronic system, fix the legal system, and then do what?" Crowley asked Rubio in that debate.

"And then you'll have a legal immigration system that works," said Rubio. "And you'll have people in this country that are without documents that will be able to return to the, will be able to leave this country, return to their homeland, and try to re-enter through our system that now functions, a system that makes sense."

The gall of this man to allow those Conservatives for a New Direction ads to air on Rush’s show and not condemn them as lies speaks volumes. He is a lying devious slug. God knows what his motives are, but they aren’t American.

Yesterday I heard Rubio respond to an interviewer's comment 'you are taking alot criticism on this immigration bill, much of it on the right' with 'yes, but I hope they remember that on almost every other issue I'm with them'.

This is his plan - push through this immigration disaster then win his way back into the fold by reverting back to the super Tea Party senator he pretended to be before.

I believe he knows damn well that if 30 million illegals gain legal status, and eventually vote, there won't be a another conservative issue that has a chance of passing in our lifetime. The way we go on this immigration bill will determine everything else.

"If you do that, you will never have a legal immigration system that works," said candidate Rubio. "No one is going to follow the law if there is an easier way to do it."

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared." -- Marcus Tullius Cicero

Obviously his thinking “evolved” after hooking up with McCain and Schumer.

Rubio sure had everyone fooled back then. For someone with such a promising career, sure didn’t take him long to deem himself irrelevant in the arena of ideas. Nobody takes anything he says seriously now.

Any scenario where illegal invaders are allowed to stay is amnesty and every reform proposal is always about amnesty first. When have you ever heard about a reform package without some form of amnesty?

Exactly right. And I’m watching the views of other Conservatives to hold them to this same standard.

Here's my take.....Rubio is being BLACKMAILED....Obama KNOWS he's not a NBC so he can't run for Pres....but Obama has told him he won't blow the lid off if Rubio runs as long as he votes for AMNESTY!! Rubio is too stupid to realized that he certainly won't win as a Republican!

John MCain is being BLACKMAILED because Obama knows what he did in Viet Nam.

Lindsay is being BLACKMAILED for being GAY.

Interesting that it has the potential to negate any of Soebarkah’s alleged crimes...

The would earn a path to citizenship by applying legally and waiting their turn.
