George Zimmerman gets to go home
The Washington Post ^ | July 13, 2013 | Jonathan Capehart, leading instigator against Z

Posted on 07/14/2013 1:50:47 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

“We will respect the rule of law. And we won’t do what George Zimmerman did when he got out of his car, profiled and pursued Trayvon and took the law into his own hands. We won’t resort to vigilante justice. We will let vengeance be unto God.”

Those words said to me by Martin family lawyer Benjamin Crump during an interview in February with full agreement by Sybrina Fulton (Trayvon’s mother) take on special resonance tonight, when a jury of six women found George Zimmerman the killer of Fulton’s son, Trayvon Martin, was not guilty. Not guilty of second-degree murder, which was a stretch under the law. Not even guilty of manslaughter. After more than 16 hours of deliberation, the verdict was unanimous.

This is a crushing decision for the Martin family. They had to fight to get Zimmerman arrested. Once arrested, they had to fight to ensure that the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot their unarmed son in the heart was held accountable before a jury. And now they must deal with the disappointment of their verdict.....

Actually, leftists loved Casey Anthony because what she basically did was a late term abortion. Remember, Casey never wanted Caylee, she wanted to give Caylee up for adoption, it was Cindy who demanded that Casey have Caylee..the media wasn’t outraged by the verdict, they did cover it like crazy but there wasn’t any media outrage.
George should lay low for a while, give it a few weeks, low information voters have a very short attention span, give it a few weeks and this will be forgotten, they will move on to the next shiny thing to be outraged about

for the lawyers statement to be close to accurate, zimmerman would have to be skulking around their neighborhood and they would have to be on the neighborhood watch. then, after he got away, he’d have to double back to attack them

get a grip. you raised a thug and he died a thugs death.

i couldn’t shrug any louder

After Zimmerman cleans up with his NBC and CNN he should move to Kalifornia, change his name to Gonzalez and become an illegal.

This way he will be protected from the evil white man.

I hope George loses that 100 lbs and moves to another state and finds a new career. Changing his name wouldn’t hurt, either. Right now, I fear, he has a bullseye on his back.

Changing his name won't help. Millions of people recognize his face. He probably would have a better chance of being safe if he traveled to his mother's native country of Peru.

We won’t resort to vigilante justice. We will let vengeance be unto God.”

That may be one of the conditions for the million dollars that I heard that the parents got. Don't incite violence or revenge for the loss of their son.

I certainly think that they are entitled to something. The events just seem to get out of control and the result was the tragic death of their son barely out of childhood.

Though I wonder how many screaming the loudest about "justice" would have to think real hard about passing up a trade like that. Seriously.

You and I both.

And I loathe the ones we count on to stand up to them but who lack the courage.

This person was one of the first to “pick it up” as you say. He’s invested.

“And why was Saint Trayvon out that night? Because his mother threw him out of the house!”

And he went to the house of his father's girlfriend. After the incident, the Home Owner's Assn. realized the father was living there but his name was not on the lease, so they made him move. He had no house of his own and no apartment of his own. He was a moocher. Where would he and Trayvon have gone next to live? Under a bridge?

I still don't understand why the State (and why the State was permitted to) put the accusation of "profiling" in the information charging GZ with a crime.

"Profiling" is smart, it's perfectly legal, and it appears in this case was more than justified.

The person who spoke this is highly judgmental and prejudiced because they made unsupported assertions about Zimmerman's state of mind. That is too bad that the parents failed to lead, failed to use common sense, failed to realize what poor examples they were showing to their children, and to the citizens of this country. They failed to serve as good role models.

I fear that we have a culture gap in this country much like the culture gap in Northern Ireland between Protestants and Catholics. There is no sound basis for the irrational behavior and deep rooted hate shown by the participants over there in Northern Ireland. ...something that happened hundreds of years ago?

What are we going to do about the growing divide in this country? Oh, yes, we can get advice from Harry Reid and the Democrat Party, a group of people who strong arm the weak and defenseless.

Crump should be disbarred. That 1st sentence was designed to plant the idea. Zimmerman will always have to look over his shoulder. Always. And Crump is helping to make it so.

Me? I’d get a nose job, tummy tuck, face stretch, ear job, dentures and a voice change operation.

He should change his name to Jorge Carpintero--Spanish for George Zimmerman. Had he done so before he encountered Trayvon Martin, he would never have been prosecuted.

If GZ didnt have those little bloody head injuries the verdict could have been of a different outcome—maybe!

This is what I have trouble with regarding the SYG override of the common law.

Most street beefs happen between two punks. While I can IDENTIFY with the sentiment that I have no DUTY to retreat on the street, when you have a shooter and a dead body, with no witnesses, and the shooter says he was standing his ground, I can't see how the Courts are supposed to sort that out.

Now Obama is going to go after Zimmerman. Zimmerman needs to get out of the country before he is locked up again.
