Zimmerman defense responds to President Obama comments

WASHINGTON - Defense attorneys for George Zimmerman released a response to President Barack Obama's remarks on "stand your ground" laws and how the Trayvon Martin verdict is affecting the community.

"We have listened to President Obama’s comments about the verdict in the Zimmerman Case. People are focusing on this quote: 'Trayvon Martin could’ve been me 35 years ago.' To focus on this one line misses the nuances of the President’s message, which includes comments about how African Americans view the Zimmerman Case in the context of the history of racial disparity in America," the defense wrote on their website, GZLegalCase.com.

"While we acknowledge and understand the racial context of this case, we challenge people to look closely and dispassionately at the facts. We believe those who look at the facts of the case without prejudice will see that it is a clear case of self-defense, and we are certain that those who take a closer look at the kind of person George Zimmerman is -- something we understand the Department of Justice is currently doing -- we are confident they will find a young man with with a diverse ethnic and racial background who is not a racist, a man who is, in fact, sensitive to the complex racial history of our country."

Read the full statement on the Zimmerman legal case website.

Obama spoke in a surprise appearance Friday at the White House, his first time appearing for a statement on the verdict since it was issued last Saturday. He said he has watched the discussion over the last week since the verdict.

"If I see any violence, I will remind folks that that dishonorable what happened to Trayvon Martin and his family," Obama said.

Obama says black Americans feel pain after the Martin verdict because of a "history that doesn't go away."

Obama says African Americans view the case through "a set of experiences and a history that doesn't go away." He says black men in particular are used to being feared and blacks see a disparity in the way they are treated under the law.

He says he also has heard drivers lock their doors and has seen women clutch their purses tighter when he walked by, before he was elected to public office.

Actually, the Benghazi episode is now easily explained....don’t stand your ground....just give up....surrender....die. It all makes perfect sense now.

IMHO, it was not George Zimmerman that killed Trayvon Martin, even though he pulled the trigger on the gun and weapon that killed Mr. Martin. The true murderer of Trayvon Martin begins with POTUS Obama, his cohorts, the media, the Black American community, Trayvon Martin’s parents, the educational system in the Black community, the greedy teachers and members of teacher labor unions, the failed leadership of the Black community, children without true, caring parenting, massive abortions of a race of Black babies, Drugs, Thugs, Criminals, corruption of youth, inattention to needy children and the failed Black power & political cartel that rules and controls Black Americans as the true pawns of the powerful abusers of their own race!!!

Trayvon Martin’s parents failed him at a critcal junture in his young life, as he was turning out bad to the bone. The Mr. Martin that clashed with George Zimmerman was not the innocent child the media and his Black neighborhood makes him out to be. He was a druggie, a thief, a thug, a hateful Black Racist, a street gangsta, criminal at best, etc.!!! Like many of Black children in America, his parents were more concerned with doing their own thing then raising their children. A split family, with each partner going their own selfish way is repeated over and over, not only in Black culture, but throughout our country. Trayvon Martin was adrift at sea, period, through no fault of his own!!! Add to the that destructive mix of parent failure, a deadly, telephone call with a totally void of intelligence, teen girl friend, that urges Martin to either run or, aggressively attack a potential “Gay” attacker that he believes is stalking him, and you have the stuff and essence of what this tragedy was all about!!!

As for Obama, his act is so routine it has become boring!!! He spins, Obamacare, he spins immigration, he spins gun control, he spins Benghzai, he spins the IRS scandal, he spins security and snooping on American citizens, he spins his failures in the Middle East, he spins his love affair with the Muslim Brotherhood, the sworn enemies of the USA, et,etc.!!! The man is neither a leader or protector of our once great country!!! Followed by hsi Black hate mongers, Sharpton, Jackson, Holder, etc., and you get the flavor of the real essence of the enemies of the state and true haters of Americans and America itself!!!

Methinks Black America should do some real, earnest, soul searching, & takes a hard, honest look in the mirror, and figures out, it needs to clean up it’s own house and culture, before it throws stones at someone else. I pray to our Lord, God almighty, that the ill planned Black Racist “Sharpton/Jackson” marches and protests remain peaceful and calm without violence, murder and property destruction. We shall see!!! Some “Hope & Change” from Obama, etc.!!! Shame!!!

Well, the admission itself surprises me. But who he says he was? Hey, it’s the streets of the Chicago ghettos way...

Here is how the defense should respond to Obama’s remarks — go down to the SPD and pick up all of his stuff including his gun — and dare Obama and Holder and all the king’s men to stop you.

What’s really disturbing about this is that there’s zero acknowledgement that many blacks played a role in this “history that won’t go away” by their own actions.

Just as there’s absolutely no acknowledgement today that Martin started the physical confrontation with Zimmerman and then propelled it to unacceptable levels that called for extreme action.

Absolutely NO acknowledgement. I’m reading local message boards with the same posters stating over and over how innocent Martin was. Up to and including mocking “Fat George” for having his head “tapped” against the sidewalk.

The people who stir this crap are beyond sick.

“He says he also has heard drivers lock their doors”
When I (white female) was doing volunteer work in a Brooklyn neighborhood over 25 years ago, I would call a taxi about 9 o’clock at night to come get me and take me to Port Authority. He would only do so if he could drive to my location with his doors locked and only unlock one door for me when I got to the taxi. The second I was in the taxi all doors were locked and we sped off.

Some of the taxi drivers were black who did this. This is my locked car door story. And quite possibly it is duplicated today.

The shooting and killing of Christopher Cervini by Roderick Scott shows a real life version of Obama’s “what if.” Black man Scott was threatened by three White punks when he tried to stop them from breaking into neighborhood cars. They turned on him. He told them to stop. They didn’t. Cervini was 16 and very White. The jury found Scott not guilty. Greece New York (way up state). This was April 2009 - plenty of time for Joe Biden to say Cervini looked like his son. New York has no Strand Your Ground Laws just common sense self defense laws left over from when the Republicans ran the state. If we don’t hear about this case it will be more proof of media bias.

But not 1/2 as tight as we are clutching them since you got elected!

The question that nobody brings up is why didn’t Trayvon Martin call 911 if he felt threatened?

A zimmermancentric view is obfuscation.

The clear truth is that Trayvon was the murderous criminal

The AG has taught us that Trayvon had a duty to flee

Instead, he chose to make a murderous assault fueled without doubt by hate.

Another FReeper posted something the other day that was basically a blueprint for how everything could have turned out completely different. All it would have taken was for Trayvon Martin to tell Rachel Jeantel to hold on, turn around and face Zimmerman and say, 'why are you following me?'

Think about that. All it would have taken was for Trayvon Martin to park his thug culture for just a second and ask a completely legitimate question.

“history that doesn’t go away.”

He and all black activists don’t want this issue to go away, it would remove the only excuse that failing african americans have for their failure in life.

The reason that the ‘leaders’ of the Negro population , long ago, erased Negro from their speech was to dramatically promote a stark racial difference between white and black.

‘Whites’ are Caucasion and ‘blacks’ are Negroid...period.

...why didn’t Trayvon Martin call 911 if he felt threatened?

The black narrative is that blacks don't trust the cops due to their “past history of being victimized by the cops.”

If you feel like having your head explode, this article explains from a black perspective why Miss Rachel didn't call the police...

Mr. O'Mara trying to reason with the race baiters and useful idiots. That's like shovelling sh!t against the tide.

Agreed... it's a valiant effort, but the message will be disregarded by those who need to receive it. That crowd doesn't do "dispassionate"; they depend entirely on perpetual outrage.

So King Barack was truant 55 days and had at least 3 suspensions when grandma was raising him as a teen?

I don’t think so.

I know not going to authorities is part of the thug culture. But I'm looking at this as a teaching moment that could've been positive. Imagine if Sharpton, Jackson, and Obama had gotten up there and said that if someone feels threatened, the first thing they should do is call 911. Isn't that part of "the conversation" black parents have with their kids?

My point is that everything they've done isn't about making blacks (or any others) safer, it's about trying to create a situation where whites should fear blacks. I'm not sure it's working.

Maybe I am clueless but until 0bama came along I thought that crap was all but dead in this country. Where was it before he convinced everybody that racism was still hot and heavy?

'Obama says'. That perverted mutt says a lot of things... I also don't believe he was ever profiled by any of those things he said. And -- if -- he was ever followed in a department store it was by a fellow homo looking to do the nasty in the Mens Room.
