Thirty-five years ago, Obama was living in Hawaii and going to one of the most exclusive prep schools in the United States. He lived in an upper middle class family— his grandmother was a senior vice-president of Hawaii’s largest bank. Obama had not yet become “black” and still spoke and acted like a “haole” (Caucasian). He didn’t become black until he learned to pretend he was in college and law school.

In 1978 I was a high school student in Chicago. It was my junior year. You were in Hawaii during that time with the Chum gang. It was more likely for me at the time to be shot but I had the sense enough to stay away from high crime area. I also remember that year spending a tremendous amount of study time in a Carter G. Woodson library on 95th and Halsted as well as playing football. During that time I knew where the high crime areas were and avoided them like the plague. I went to Hawaii in 1983 and found that the most black people that are born there were affiliated with the federal government or military.
