I read the headline and thought “investigating the charges” meant investigating why someone would charge an obviously innocent man (probably based on George being profiled by race by local government). That seems like a civil rights violation to me.

I think we can kill two birds with one stone here. Obama should use imminent domain to seize Detroit and incorporate it into the Justice Department. Then, he can bail them out without bothering to go through Congress, and appoint the City Council to investigate Zimmerman.

If you read the article, one of the other council members said they needed to address the black on black crime in their own city.

It appears at least one of them does not have their head completely shoved up their rear end.

As a conservative Republican who just happens to live in a big city (LA) I know what part of the problem is. There is an ENORMOUS concentration of Democrats in many of these cities. Many big cities are strictly one party. There is an unholy alliance between the public service unions and the Democrat Party. Republican politicians no longer compete in many of these big cities. LA used to have at least some Republican strength. It used to have GOP mayors, GOP police chiefs, at least some GOP city councilmen. But no more. The city is strictly one party. When you vote in municipal elections your choices are limited only to Democrats. It’s like voting in the former Soviet Union. In many ways this is truly a shame. But one party control of our big cities is ruining them. And this is nothing to celebrate.
