Isn’t it telling that those who get ensnared by the IRS have more to fear than many criminals who commit violent crimes? The IRS is the only entity in this country now in which “justice” is swift and sure. Only those who they deem to have not paid enough, and they will decide that point, can count on getting due punishment. Whereas murderers and rapists can do a few years and be set free, if that. They might get probation.

There’s no snivel rights leaders marching on behalf of taxpayers who get the short end, but there’s too many marching and yelling on behalf of murderers and rapists.

LBJ had plenty to do with it as well.

Funny thing is that nobody notices Obama avoiding the place like the plague.

I disagree a bit with the article, based on some familiarity with a large black democrat run city.

Oh yes, there are taxes on all businesses and productive people to drive them out of the city. But I see very little flow of money from the rich to the poor.

Basically, these cities are poorly run, they deliver a mediocre and inefficient basket of city services. They are corrupt. They waste a LOT of resources on liberal schemes which accomplish nothing. Gender issues, gay issues, human rights commissions, etc.

I see no sign that the poor people are getting anything out of it. The welfare flows from the federal government.

I visited Detroit with a heart needed to be reconciled with slaves who escaped a plantation in Kentucky. Grandma gave me letters from these slaves that I wanted to ask forgiveness, and extend friendship and relationship to descendants of someone who had affectionate ties to the plantation. The letter that he wrote exhibited he LOVED his master, but he didn´t want to be a slave. It was powerful. His name was Ellis. I went to the library trying to find black people by the name of Ellis. Went to the African Black Museum, and left offended, angry, that they had tributes to Nelson Mandela who had NOTHING to do with the HISTORY of American Slavery. Not ONE SINGLE MENTION of a white person like Abraham Lincoln, or the 238,000 white soldiers of the North who fought for their freedom. Their whole story of bitterness and antagonism left me cold. The culture needs to change in Detroit.
A Viet Nam veteran, God Bless Him, was selling poppy flowers, he was drinking and I didn´t WANT to give him $1.00 for his flower for him to go drink. Spat on me, cursed me and I felt unsafe. The people at the Local McDonald´s didn´t speak English, they spoke Ebony. Al Sharpton needs to go to work on his own race and household,.
Frederick Douglass´s fine Autobiography the first half talked of slavery. This was a tragedy. The second half he talked about descrimination, but that he made a point that the descrimination wouldn´t end until the Black Nation learned to act in respect, and exhibited a culture that people would DESIRE to be their neighbor. We do have a lot to learn in 2013, and Mr. Obama, Eric Holder and Al Sharpton are not the teachers.

I really wouldn't say it is "Black politicians," although many of Detroit's politicians have been black. Rather the author of this piece should have made more of a point of the political alliance of the politicians.

In Dallas, TX we had a mayor a few years back who was a white woman and both she and her TX state rep husband were big libs. The owner of the Cowboys wanted to build a new stadium in the Dallas city limits close to downtown where it could be part of the night life. Well, Laura Miller, the female, liberal democrat white mayor decided to throw her weight behind opposing the relocation of the new stadium. The area Jerry wanted to place it was within a run-down area which would have immediately sprung to life and it would have encouraged new businesses to move in to take advantage of the new stadium.

Laura got what she wanted and Jerry moved his operation to Arlington where the entire area is thriving with new restaurants and supporting businesses, meanwhile the area where Jerry wanted to build his stadium continues to swelter.

Libs tend to not think clearly about the ramifications of their actions. They are not statesmen who consider how their actions will affect the future. It is not "black" but liberal-commie-"progressive"-users who create blight and cost taxpayers so much money and headache. They don't look into the future except to make sure that they have destroyed those who oppose them, and in doing so they cause everything to turn to crap.

IT’S THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER (DEMOCRAT/UNIONIST/COMMUNIST) NOT THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN THAT SUNK DETROIT!

Leave the race game to the professionals like Obama, Sharpton and Jackson.

“Wherever black politicians take control, industry, commerce, opportunity, and liberty are not going to be allowed to flourish.”

Did he just define Obama and his relation to this
country? Do all black politicians want to fundamentally
change this country? Sounds like they want to enslave
some people. In Detroit, there was someplace to go like Texas.
When it’s the whole country, there isn’t. I think the lesson
Obama is trying to teach is
“now you can see how it feels to be a slave”.

Black politicians pass laws that extort wealth by gunpoint from those better off (the so-called rich) and give it to those less so (the poor) — in this case, poor blacks.

They only pass on a handful of crumbs AFTER they skim the top for themselves and their cronies.
