Rand Paul talks some sense that all his fellow Republicans should face on the bugaboo of "amnesty" for those lawbreaking illegal immigrants already in the United States, reported via Mediaite:
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) may have voted against the Senates Gang of Eight immigration reform bill last week, but he seemingly does not count himself among the conservative critics of the bill who oppose any and all forms of amnesty for illegal immigrants currently living inside the United States.
In an interview with WNDtv, Sen. Paul took on the critics of so-called amnesty who oppose efforts to normalize illegal immigrants and absorb them into the United States. Lets get them work visas, lets normalize them, lets make them taxpayers, he said of the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently residing within the states.
Theyre not going home, Paul said, adding that even the most vocal opponents of so-called amnesty seem to recognize this fact. Are they for sending these people home? Do they want us to put them in concentration camps, on buses, and send them back home? I dont think anyones proposing that.
Mike Riggs earlier today had a great roundup of the liberty issues implicated in this round of "immigration reform."
Well, they have to go SOMEWHERE before they make the trip home...
"Concentration camps" sounds so 20th Century. Call them "Processing Centers".
Close. I want us to be the country worthy of inspiring them. I want them to go home and make their own counties ones that can inspire the citizens of their neighboring countries.
I want personal liberty and wealth to spread world wide by example and desire.
RE: “Concentration camps” sounds so 20th Century. Call them “Processing Centers”.
Also, you don’t have to detain them indefinitely.
Those in concentration camps would gladly want to GO HOME. And THAT is exactly what we’d be doing for them.
So, how is it even a concentration camp?
and of course it plays into the one world government mindset.
The issue has a wide array of forces that couldn’t care less about the U.S. of A. (or want to destroy us). This obviously includes a large number of the 'party on the right'.
I’m thinking if U.S. Citizens could repudiate ‘the powers that be’ and walk away from the federal reserve we might be able to reverse course...
No? ... I can dream, can’t I?
Somebody tell Rand that a bunch of them have already gone home. If there is nothing here for them they go on home on their own.
I really like Rand Paul on almost every issue but he just doesn’t seem to get it on immigration. I think he just feels like he cannot win the presidency if he advocates agains’t it.
Toss them BACK and prevent any more from coming in. Or give up calling us a nation and add to the stock of jokes other countries already tell about us.
If you are not familiar with Operation Wetback, 1954, perhaps you could still learn something.
There were NO court cases.
As for law enforcement officers' expense. I would rather spend the money, whatever the cost, to a geometrically increasing population of mobs inimical to our basic system, most criminally inclined, embedded in a corrupt culture which propagates endlessly for generations as far as the imagination can grasp.
I would agree to exceptions for families who are demonstrably self sustaining for at least two generations, haven't bred any gang-bangers, not recipients of any kind of ongoing taxpayer-funded aid, and not benefitting from special financial privileges not enjoyed by regular non-welfare citizens.
Nope.
I said precisely what I want.
That's steps 1 and 2. Step 0 is us being the country worthy of emulation.
But thank you for noting that we aren't today...
I rather fancy Gator113's term "sleepover places"
RE: There were NO court cases.
That was THEN. This is NOW.
We WILL have court cases with the grievance industry tying up the courts for a long time.
Nothing personal. You may or may not be a complete idiot, but I prefer to hear it from him. Is English Rand's second Language? If not, why does he need an interpreter?
;>)
That is why I added the CAVEAT — “I think”.
That's inhumane.
But it's their choice. Find legal relatives to live with and remain here, or travel with their loving illegal family and continue using the language they already know, into their normal loving country with their supportive reliable family.
Giving $300 million to radical leftist groups and giving foreigners the right to forge a couple of passports is the only alternative to “concentration camps”??
Hyperbolic much?
Circular reasoning.
Stop the taxpayer-funded grievance industry, and problem solved.
If the illegals could fund the grievance industry, they would not need the plethora of welfare benefits.
this immigratiion cave in shyte never ends...no one is immune
I want them in their own country and yes, I’m against Rand Paul’s solution which is amnesty and I believe he would have voted for the amnesty bill had he not seen what was happening to rubio.
no concentration camp, just send thwem home. Except the ones who have prison time or executions coming, send them home after their sentence is served or enforced.
Uh, yes, that's the general idea.
What's the alternative? Make slaves of you and your children to pay for their free sh*t until the end of time?
We owe them NOTHING, other than reasonable care that they don't starve or die of exposure in custody.
Honestly, do you want to pay for their upkeep beyond that?
