She may have spoken with the shop owner at the wedding and because the shop owner didn't curtsy properly to her, she invoked race and sent her minions after her.
Could it be the shop clerk just didn’t like fat and ugly people and race had nothing to do with it? Why is it every time a minority of any type feels slighted it’s always about the race, sex, religion, etc.? It frankly borders on paranoia. There’s plenty of reasons why someone gets slighted. It may not have even been anything about Oprah but the clerk was just having a bad day, and was going to take it out on the next customer, and that next customer just happened to be a black woman. People are becoming so darn sensitive these days, and I just don’t think people like Oprah even understand what real racism and discrimination once was. Some snooty clerk who gives attitude is now raised to the level of a civil rights campaign? Goodness people have to get some thicker skin and focus on the real issues.
So all this time and all this flapping of her gums and her royal O-hiney still has not spoken to the shop owner.
The most important part of our contract was the part that set closing at 30 days past due diligence, with the seller having the option to extend another 30 days. We wanted this because we needed a hard buyer to go find and buy a home contingent on this sale.
2 hours before the expiration of the 30 day due diligence period, her lawyer sends our broker an email saying "my client needs 2 more weeks, make it happen". We had to cancel/postpone our home-hunting trip, cat-sitter, etc. to accommodate, but we did after 3 days of negotiating and getting her to release $10K of her deposit non-refundable to cover the cost of our having to change plans. Our signed amendment stated that all other provisions of the contract remain in force... meaning we still had 30-60 days after their due diligence ends to go find/buy a new home.
2 weeks pass, and they "go hard" on the sale... so we jet off and go find a new home, and notify buyer's attorney that as expected, we're going to need the extra 30 days to take possession of the new home.... he responds by saying buyer not only won't give us the extension, but she wants to close in 2 weeks.
Buyer stops talking to our broker, and threatens (through her nasty lawyer) to sue us if we insist on going by the timeline set out by the contract... we get our attorney involved, and after 2 weeks of back and forth (and $8900 in legal bills) we get permission to move all our stuff to a small out building on the property and stay there the extra month.
We finally close the deal, and pay movers to put all our stuff into the back building (and our poor 4 cats).... we've been enduring her now for the past 3 weeks... showing up at all hours (as late as 12:30 AM) wanting to come in and take measurements, etc.... she's done nothing with the main property that she kicked us out of.... yesterday she sends an email telling us that workers will begin replacing siding on the building we're in Thursday.
One week to go... sheesh...
Oprah Winfrey has never once experienced an act of racism directed towards in her life. No one ever denied her service in a place of public accommodation, never told her to sit in the back of a bus, told her she couldn’t live in a particular neighborhood or ever denied her the right to vote. Not once in her life. The fact she is a mega-millionaire is proof of that. No African-American under the age of fifty has EVER experienced an overt act or demonstration of racism at all. They only wish that they had, going so far as to make up claims that they did(Tawana Brawley, Oprah and this latest nonsense) because they want so badly to be seen as ‘’victims of racism’’ so they can be some kind of hero or martyr. Next to Her Hugeness here one of the worst offenders of the phony racist victim class is the dreadful Melissa Harris-Perry. A woman with a white mother and who quite frankly appears to be whiter then I am and folks I’m talking Caspar The Ghost here. This illogical and desperate woman salivates at even the slightest pretense of ‘’racism’’ so as to pull her victim routine in front of her pathetic viewership on MSNBC.
I disagree. Her mission was to promote her new movie, coming out this week. The fact that she had to step on a few "little people" to do it, is inconsequential (to her).
The fact that this incident occurred a few weeks ago and was sat upon until now is pretty much proof positive, IMO.
It pains me to disagree with you, but as someone who has worked with black & Latin Americans in the arts, there is still huge prejudice, condescension and unpleasantness toward non-whites - much of it totally unconscious.
I believe Oprah is seeking publicity for her new movie while trying to pretend that even she, with her fame and fortune, is open to be discriminated against due to her race, just like other black people, making Oprah a 'victim', even though the label is absurd and the ridiculous incident, centering on a insanely overpriced purse. Now, the 20-year-old Swiss shop girl is speaking out and asking why the mega-powerful Winfrey is making her a target of alleged 'racism' so Oprah is wisely backing away from the story, as she should. To be frank, its hard to feel sorry for billionaire show business mega-star Oprah Winfrey when she complains about a young female clerk in Switzerland who didn't treat her exactly the way Her Highness thought she deserved and now it looks as if the mighty Oprah lied about it, to boot. Shame on her.
I think she made a mistake when she said she was treated as bad as “Emmit Till” by the store clerk ... may have overplayed her hand.
The only thing that this arrogate fat slob would look good in a tent made by Omar with flower prints all over it.
Her apology and explanation has so many holes in it, like swiss cheese.
In the future she'll have the good sense to pay the clerk off first.
Really? I’ve worked with blacks and Latinos and have found it to be the opposite. If after some fifty years of ‘’breaking down the barriers’’ Blacks and Latinos are still being made to ‘’sit in the back of the bus’’ then the Civil Rights movement has been a total failure which the Left and the race hustlers will always admit to to keep the grievance industry gravy train going. Fifty years ago there were no Oprah Winfreys, no Sean “Puff Daddy’s Combs and there sure as Hell were no Obamas.And where is Affirmative Action for white people? I stand by my argument as to people like Oprah have never faced the the racism of the 1860’s or the 1960’s.
The Oprah’s caught in an UGLY ASS LIE, and she exposed herself for trying to buy a $38,000 ALLIGATOR BAG!!!!!! OMG!! Hello, PETA???? Hello, WHITE TRAILER PARK WOMEN???
