If you mean a C&R license you can probably get it. They haven’t issued regular FFL’s as in kitchen table FFL’s for many years now since the Clinton admin. Been there, done that.

Sure they can’t. My point was that it is easier to get than an FFL. Probably won’t be worth jack in CA, though. A lot of places have stopped shipping to C&Rs there.

Yup. It’s a lot more than a C&R. But you can do so much more with it. It is still a huge bargain. I look for all BATFE fees to skyrocket a few thousand percent soon.

+1 on the Sig 220. Terrific shooting piece.

Would love to have a 220 Elite, just can’t afford it. I’m still trusting a P6, with four mags. Recently found a Beretta 8045 ... very sweet shooter, but not as accurate as a 220.

A 1911, being one of the thinnest fullsize guns, is very easy to conceal with the right holster. I recommend a Crossbreed Supertuck. And if a full size one is too big and heavy swap to a scandium frame compact model.

I prefer 1911’s and am also a fan of the Springfield XD.
Any of them, regular, ‘M’ and ‘S’ depending on your budget and needs.

If you are going 1911, and want cheep I recommend Armoscor or Rock Island Arsenal. For Midrange I prefer Springfield 1911s and high end Kimber is very nice... of course there are a ton of solid manufactures making 1911s. More companies make them now than ever before.

Love my P220. So smooth and accurate.

Before middle age spread hit me, I regularly carried a 1911 inside the waistband small of the back. Now it is a home defense pistol, to allow me to get to my battle gun.

Colt 1911 is hard to beat. Military tested and mother approved.

Fixed it.

SAR K2 .45. 14 rounds! It’s a Turkish boat anchor. I would consider it as ‘keep in one place piece’ (desk, nightstand) since it’s a CZ clone, good quality and inexpensive.

First time I fired a Kimber .45, I was amazed at how quickly it “found’ the target and held tight groups even firing quickly. Loved it!

Plus, the little Kimber is concealable, which is a big plus for a .45 ACP!

Used by Navy SEALS

Many configurations available.

I'll second this...

I had a P220. I absolutely hated it, and got rid of it as soon as I could. Nothing wrong with the pistol. The quality was great and it was reliable. It just did not point well at all for me, and I very much disliked the DA trigger setup and decocker. I ditched it and got a Colt Commander, which I was quite happy with.

Having shot both the Springfirld XD and the Glock, I will take the XD. More accurate. I just requalified and shot 246 out of 250 with my XD. Only had a little trouble at 15 yards. Didn’t calculate the drop right.(and yes there is a drop at that distance ).

My carry weapon is the exact same Kimber. I have killed many a moccasin and rattler with it too.
