The Democrat Moral Superiority Complex
AmericanThinker.com ^ | 9/3/2013 | Karin McQuillan

I recently met a man who cycled from his home in California to Maryland. When I exclaimed how interesting it must have been to talk with Americans across the country, he looked at me as if I had two heads. "Are you crazy? I didn't talk to anyone," he told me. "They're all red-necks."

A liberal friend solemnly warned me not to tell anyone I support the Tea Party. They're all racists, wacko survivalists and birthers, she told me, impervious to anything I said about my pride in the Tea Party, and our mainstream issues: fiscal responsibility and constitutional, limited government. She knew we were racist because there were only white people at our rallies. No matter there's not a black face at the anti-global warming groups she goes to, or in her neighborhood or church. It's only conservatives who are judged guilty of racism before proven innocent.

Democrats believe that good and evil in this country is divided along party lines, with all the caring people in their party, and all the greedy, mean people in the other. They also believe that intelligence is doled out along party lines. Conservatives are morons while liberals are the most brilliant people ever seen.

That's funny because when I listen to talk radio I hear the exact same thing, with the sides reversed of course.

The author is just stating the obvious.

There. Is. No. Such. Thing. As. A. “Liberal Friend”—get that fact, and you are much safer in this dangerous world.

They are religious zealots who believe they have evolved into godlike creatures.

Pray for America to Wake Up

Are you actually trying to argue that the Right's pea-shooter which is Talk Radio is actually comparable in impact to the Left's stranglehold on newspapers, television, music, movies, magazines and most all the other cultural dreadnoughts which mesmerize virtually all of America's semi-literate voters? Phfft! I would say that your statement is absurd, but then I would only say that to someone whom I was certain wasn't out to spread the Progressive Gospel of Moral Equivalence.

I believe the article has cause and effect reversed.
Liberals are liberals because the have the innate desire to feel righteous based on their own merit. It’s the humanist worldview at play.

And what better way to achieve righteousness than to join a group that claims moral superiority , and then claim that all who oppose you are evil?

The Democrat superiority complex masks their tremendous feelings of inadequacy, incapability and incompetency.

They desperately seek others to feel superior to, and are bitterly resentful if those they imagine themselves superior to prove to be competent or even capable.

I use the "Tracy Chapman" model as a good example. From the point of view of the neurotic left she was an ideal "black person". Very stereotypical in appearance, downtrodden in attitude, abused and neglected in expression, she came across as a doormat for scorn. So they adored her.

And the adoration lasted until she injudiciously proved that she had intelligence and ability. Then they dropped her like a sodden piece of tissue paper.

At some point they decided that they just could not live without having a permanent underclass to look down on, so have gone to some lengths to "keep the black man down", with a both 'carrot and stick' approach. And they have had considerable luck in doing so.

But the vulnerability of the left is peculiar. Beneath it all they know they are utter failures and that their ideas never work. So they are absolutely dependent on the right to manage society and try to keep things functional. Without the competent right, everything "goes Zimbabwe".

Detroit is a great example of what happens when Democrats are left in charge, and they know it. Even an utter jackass can tell that California is on 'the highway to Hell' without brakes.

And yet, in the final analysis, the Democrat liberal left has fully embraced the idea of Satan in Milton's 'Paradise Lost'.

Here we may reign secure, and in my choyce

To reign is worth ambition though in Hell:

Better to reign in Hell, then serve in Heav'n.

I had a Liberal friend once. She passed away suddenly at age 40, as a result of living a Liberal lifestyle.

“The Democrat superiority complex masks their tremendous feelings of inadequacy, incapability and incompetency.”

Truth.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder writ large.
NO EMPATHY.

Soulless sociopaths that can gaze on dead babies, ruined lives, destroyed cities and pronounce their policies that caused all the suffering “A Success!”.

They FEAR abandonment most of all - ignore them when they speak (you KNOW the lies they’re telling anyway - what’s new?)
They HATE ridicule most of all, and FR is “Ridicule Central”
(I like people’s cube too ;)

Nothing in my comment said or implyed ‘impact’ so you ran off the tracks into the lake. You start with ‘impact’ then you jump to ‘moral equivalence’ which are two completely different things.

This thread was about superior attitudes.
Listen to the Rush act, Hannity, etc. They use the term ‘conservatism’ like Star Wars fictionally used the term ‘The Force’. And of course if you believe whatever Rush says (and buy Lifelock) then you are ‘conservative’, a superior being in every way.

I recently met a man who cycled from his home in California to Maryland. When I exclaimed how interesting it must have been to talk with Americans across the country, he looked at me as if I had two heads. "Are you crazy? I didn't talk to anyone," he told me. "They're all red-necks."

What a difference from this young man who wrote of an incredible experience as he learned about America by walking across it.

From wiki "A Walk Across America is the first book written by travel author Peter Jenkins.

Written in 1979, it depicts his journey from Alfred, New York to New Orleans, Louisiana.

Peter Jenkins begins his trip because he has a jaded view of America after the time of the Vietnam War; its realities and the viewpoint that the American dream is not really real any more. He wants to learn the truth about his country and its people. Along his journey, he and his dog Cooper meet the common American of the towns and regions he travels through and stops to visit and work in. They range from the likes of Homer, a mountain man living a life of self-sufficiency on Chatam Hill, Virginia to a simple black family in Murphy, North Carolina and on to George Wallace, the Governor of Alabama.

Peter's journey leads him from the fields of the back country in the Northeast to the forested hills and mountains of the Appalachians and to the dirt yards and hard scrabble homes of the Deep South and onwards to the Antebellum homes of Dixie. He meets men he thinks will kill him because of their perception of him as a drug dealing hippie and motherly ladies who recognize the goodness in him and of his intentions. He quickly learns that the perception of men and conditions they create as offered by others often clashes with the reality of the experiences he encounters.

He learns the American dream does reside in the men and women of America as he works beside them and accepts hospitality given to him. As he begins to walk home, he encounters a man sleeping under an overpass on a highway near New Orleans, Louisiana. The man is depressed and does not believe in America anymore, believing that soon the Cold War may end with "the Soviets winning." The man, now known to be drunk, offers Jenkins a beer. Jenkins politely refuses, and tries to help the man, asking if he wants to walk with him or go to a hospital and fix his condition (it was learned that the man's memory was fading). Sadly, the man seems to forget who Jenkins is and walks back to his makeshift bed, beginning to complain about America. It is at this point where Jenkins realizes that this man could have been him had he not changed throughout his journey.

My oldest is a liberal. College did their job on him. He isn’t a rabid one, but he is one. We stay away from politics because we usually end up getting angry and hanging up on each other.

My son is very smart and has the job to prove it. Thing about him is that he has some of this attitude. As smart as he is, he is also very naive. he thinks as long as the world accepts the liberal “one size fits all” worldview, harmony will happen. Yeah, right. I feel that people are happier when others mind their own business most of the time.

Thing is, they really do believe they are morally superior. I can tell one, even the closet ones who try to hide it, because I deal with it.

As far as conservative talk shows go, they are talk shows and these people develop the style that seems to get success for their craft. Not all people like the same styles. Not all agree with them 100%.

Rush is bombastic at times, but I doubt he is like that in real life.

He must piss off the left a lot because they pay so much attention to him. LOL Doesn’t matter who is doing the talking, if you criticize a lefty or a fool with an idol worship problem, they get agitated and start foaming at the mouth.

At the fitness place they have MSNBC on and its hilarious when Rev Al puts up quotes of Rush, for example on say Michelle Obama funny stuff. Then Al and guests rant.
But there are other times that he is not that helpful like election years esp 2012

I dont think what Rush says bothers those elites on MSNBC a bit, they repeat him and call him ‘the head of the Republican party’ simply to (help) get left leaning Americans (minorities) to go vote. Last year Rush was one of a few they used for that.
They are trying the same for next year, a increasingly tougher task.

Rush is no help at election time. I suppose that could be so because the GOP puts up goobers as candidates anymore. Who wants to go out on a limb for any of them?

But I have to admit that Obama and the left help build up business for Limbaugh. George Bush’s fault.

I got a couple here who always like to start with me together 2 against one because I am the only one they know who will diss Obama. And I never let them get me mad.

When they go into superiority mode they are impossible to deal with so I just counter will some of the more silly stuff I read here, or hear on talk radio.

Like how we will impeach Obama or how voter ID will keep them from stealing another election, or how Obama was born in Kenya, anything just to make the steam come out of their ears.

There are people you just cant discuss things with rationally.
