World Net Daily ^ | 5 September, 2013 | Garth Kant and Chelsea Schilling

Americans are slamming at least 22 members of Congress with thousands of phone calls and emails, urging lawmakers not to approve a military strike on Syria – by a margin of as much as 499 to 1.

A national debate is raging on Twitter. Tweets and statements from members of Congress – both Democrat and Republican – show tremendously strong opposition to President Obama’s call for an air strike on Syria:

Damascus will be destroyed and left uninhabited."

Mr. Teleprompter can add that to the end of Dear Reader's speeches. It is sure to increase Dear Reader's 'gravitas' deficit...

The usurper has already accomplished his goal of diverting attention from multiple scandals including but not limited to his illegal occupation of the Oval Office, Benghazi, NSA and the IRS.

America is one of the most politically divided, diverse, and culturally multi-faceted countries in the world. Yet there is virtually unanimous agreement that America should not get involved in the Syrian civil war.

If America is truly a representative democracy, no Congressman will defy his constituents and do exactly the opposite of what they want him to do — support Obama in attacking Syria. Yet, amazingly, it’s unclear how Congress will vote on this issue.

I’ve sent perhaps a dozen mail messages to congresscritters...

This INCLUDES positive messages to Paul and Cruz to keep up the great work.

Congresscritter in my district and Sinators in my state are pure 0’, but made sure to include in the list: Boehner and Cantor.

if not by obama by someone else. if by obama, it probably goes down that one or two of those yahkont ship killers takes out one or two carriers. obama launches a nuke at damascus from a sub somewhere.

Assad would nuke Damascus faster (if he thought he was going down and chance being taken captive by AlQaeda ) than Obama would in retaliation for one of our ships sinking.

I don't think our ships sinking would faze Obama at all.

However, Assad will crowd every military target with little children. There will be news camaras to record the pain and suffereing.

There will be a horrible irony if Obama kills more children than were killed by the poison gas attack (by whichever side launched it) which Obama is trying to avenge.

I called my so called representatives today to give my opinion. I also asked where each politician stood on the issue and what the ratio of calls had been. The sense I have gotten is that most people are against another war but the Democrats acted as if it was even. One rat office worker insisted that he didn't know and couldn't say how the calls had been because he didn't have the number. I kept on pushing. Just give me a ballpark figure, I would say. “Sorry, I couldn't say. I am not the only one taking calls.” When I asked where the rep stood, for or against, he insisted the rep was “studying the issue”. Which of course is politician speak for “ My mind is already made up. I am going to do as I am told by Obama, Pelosi & Reid but am not going to admit it."

Syria? Why not Chicago? Comedian Stephen Colbert:

"Dictator Bashar al-Assad is killing his own people with chemical weapons.
Before he was just killing them with bullets. If America cared about
shooting people, we'd be invading Chicago."

“So do we have a representative form of government or not?”

Absolutely not. We have a one party kakistocracy mimimicking a two party representative form of government.

Still, we’re fortunate in that most within it are craven cowards who are generally unwilling to take a stance that they see the people opposed by large margins. Moreso if it’s something that gets folks angry.

Yeah, well I'm not in a big hurry to get there from here. Jug ears needs reigned in; we have no vital interest in Syria.

The next few weeks will be interesting, but not entertaining. Our fearless leader has already taken the power reserved for the legislative branch. He has turned the justice department into a lawbreaking body.

My opinion: fearless leader is going to go ahead and bomb Syria. A massive wave of opposition will sweep over the country. The rest of his term will be toast. People will finally see him for the lying ROP loving marxist that he is.
