And in other news: Babe Ruth just announced his retirement from baseball, The Packard motor Co. will cease production at the end of the 1958 model year, Mickey Mantle ended the 1961 season with 61 home runs, and Pres Kennedy promised there will be a man on the moon by the end of the 60's.

Diane Sawyer is more embarrassing than Shepard Smith?

Well, I must say, her mascara looks better than ‘his’.

News reporting in the US mainstream media consists of trolling the Internet for stories and repeating administration talking points. The only real reporting I see comes from blogs and foreign media.

They have to use old trivial news, since they haven’t yet figured out how to make Obama a hero over Syria.

I actually saw this report yesterday. Way to go ABC.
Cutting edge journalism only 3 years old. In their defense they were
probably momentarily blinded by the twerking girl catching fire.

hey, stop being unfair to ABC. To save money and still get reports from far away places like China, they are using 1500’s sailing ships to courier messages, so it was actually very speedy - in fact, it is amazing it got through at all given the lack of navigation equipment and vulnerability to storms!

The thing is, people who watch the unwatchable network newscasts (and Diane Sawyer is probably the most unwatchable of the bunch) will never have any clue that the puff piece they saw Thursday night was 3 years old. People who watch network news are the kind of people who tend to vote for people like Ubama. That is, they are mostly the elderly dregs of the ignorant chattering class.

So, it is nice that The Blaze pointed out this latest piece of eye-rolling, network news idiocy, but nobody who matters cares.

I am glad to know ABC has more sources than just the White House.

I can’t stand Dianne Sawyer’s pseudo-homespun attempt at familiarity.

You've got to understand that the people putting together newscasts, the producers, are generally in their early 20s to early 30s, and don't know sh*t about sh*t. Especially at your local news station, the producer of your 5:00 newscast may be a 22 year old dumba** just out of his or her government indoctrination mill, aka college.

The producer is responsible for everything that goes in the newscast...compiling reporters' stories and building them into the rundown, writing "voice overs", which are stories the anchor merely reads while the video is rolling, and finding voice overs from the network feed to run. Probably what happened here is some dumba** know nothing 25 year old who got their job at network because of nepotism, didn't think to check the date on the traffic jam story, because they needed a story to fit the international news segment, and that one fit the bill.

Anchors, like Diane Sawyer, are nothing more than talking heads. If you can get them to read their scripts before they go on the air, you're lucky. Their expertise is with filling time, and either speeding up or slowing down their delivery as the producer talks in their IFB (earpiece) from the control room, keeping them apprised of how much time is left before the next commercial break. Not that the anchors listen to the producer...they're far more important, you know.

In short, no one in the newsroom, except for a few grizzled old editors that people don't listen to anyway, know anything about what's actually going on. The FReeper who said the only real journalism going on these days are blogs and the foreign press, is spot on right.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

I like ABC’s new ad campaign. “If you don’t watch ABC, you are uninformed. If you do watch ABC, you are misinformed”.

There Is an Embarrassing Problem With This ABC ‘World News’ Report…

When ABC claims to have a "News" organization, it is wildly inaccurate reporting.
