Vladimir Putin Puts John Kerry In Check On Syria
Business Insider ^ | 9 Sep 2013 | Michael Kelley

On Monday, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Syria could avoid an American attack by turning over "every single bit of his chemical weapons to the international community in the next week."

Russia immediately jumped on the offer, as Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow will urge Syria to place its chemical weapons under international control in a bid to avert military intervention.

This is a deft political move on Russia's part, especially since the State Department immediately walked back Kerry's comments by saying that he "was making a rhetorical argument about the impossibility and unlikelihood of Assad turning over chemical weapons he has denied he used."

No he did not blink. Assad will not give up weapons that he does not have. Putin is setting things up world opinion wise should the US military unwisely strike and he is forced to go to war.

Last week I looked up and Henry Kissinger and Donald Rumsfeld was on TV. I got to remember when adults ran the country. I may not have always agreed with them but they WERE adults.

Russia can see Kerry+Obama’s bluff a mile away.
Getting this on the news will create headaches for them.

Putin already has Assad's agreement on this, thinking 2 or 3 moves ahead like he always does.

Now he leaves Kerry, the State Department and of course Barky OBungler holding the dirty end of the stick, again.

Checkmate.

When is Obama doing his network interviews?

He will have to throw away his talking points without sounding like an idiot.

Then again--

Kerry wouldn’t even know what that means.

I know it’s sophomore humor, but it’s still humor. Which is hard to find when attached to a thread involving the current administration.

He has been ahead of him in Syria since May. Putin has threatened war 2-3 times already and owns Buggery. He is systematically kicking the US out of the Middle East and destroying the Muslim Caliphate.

Putin never wanted to go to war with the United States over Syria. His goal has always been to block the Saudi pipeline. So long as Assad is in power, he accomplishes that. The Saudis have been trying to oust Assad with their army of jihadis. The Saudis are losing so they need American air power to tip the scales. Putin’s move gives up nothing but keeps us out of the skies over Syria.

Assad stays in power, the Saudis don’t get their pipeline, Russia’s monopoly on the European natural gas market is intact, and America is embarrassed internationally.

I’d call this a decisive victory for Russia and Putin.

Vladimir Putin is the best ruler Russia has ever had since Tsar Peter. Bork Obunga is the worst ruler any advanced state has ever had since Nero.

CNN is spinning this news as a “GREAT OBAMA VICTORY!!!”

Van Jones: “It’s like a “West Wing” (TV Show) moment!”

Oh Christ, these people are so shallow, aren’t they?

Your analysis is 100% right on! However I believe if push comes to shove Putin will fight and this scenario only strengthens his hand on the situation all around.

I wonder if any of the top Democratic leaders who made trips to Syria before we attacked Iraq want to see International arms inspectors crawling all over the place in Syria? "'Hopefully' Saddam Made it to Syria" said Katie Couric, Today Show host, the day our Forces took over Bagdad. What else made it to Syria, Katie?
