President Barack Obama says that he is less concerned with scoring “style points” for his improvisational handling of the Syria crisis than in “getting the policy right.” This dismissive defense comes at the precise moment that Washington is awash in brutal critiques of the Obama leadership style.
The president’s harried, serial about-faces on Syria — coupled with the collapse of Larry Summers's candidacy for chairmanship of the Federal Reserve — have combined to highlight some enduring limitations of Obama’s approach to decision-making, public persuasion and political management.
Across the capital, anxious friends and chortling enemies alike are asking: What’s wrong with Obama?

You've summed it up. The whole article essentially gushes about him - how "brilliant and articulate" he seems, especially contrasted to the Neanderthal Bush, etc. - and then the writer just can't seem to understand why the magic is wearing off.
That's because there never was anything magical about Obama, except perhaps his powers of deception and the joy of the left in thinking they had finally found the black, anti-Western, anti-Christian hero of their dreams. Well, while he was certainly all those things, it is now becoming apparent even to them that he's simply not bright enough to carry it off. But they're still making excuses for him.
Plus, when are they ever going to forget about Bush? Personally, I thought Bush was much more articulate than Obama, who sounds like a robot who might run out of his script at any moment (and usually does), except for those occasions when he's affecting a ghetto black accent to which he has no right.

I had a heated argument with a lib at that time. She insisted that being a “community organizer” was sufficient experience to be President.
To pile absurdity upon stupidity, none of the dumb libs I debated at the time could comprehend that he wasn’t even that. Just another dirty shakedown artist like Jackson & Sharpton being groomed to be the Democrats’ token (half) black for never ending race card usage.
Like Biden said, he cleaned up nice and talked pretty well, i.e. like a white person (as long as he has a teleprompter). Those were and are his qualifications. A useful tool for people and organizations much farther up the ladder, nothing more.

Not so much about advancing himself ... he was on a free affirmative action ride ... advanced way beyond his capability. His thin resume more than explains his failure ... it was a given.

This isn’t a criticism of Obama..... it’s a love letter demanding their idol do all the great and wonderful things they “know” he can do. He’s a “pathological rationalist”? More like he’s a pathological liar completely out of his depth.

As events occur, they are spun by his handlers to reflect credit upon him. E.G., Syria. His handlers now wish us to believe that this was a brilliant ploy that Barry masterminded to bring Syria to the "table for talks," when in point of fact, Vladimir Putin "owned" him and incidentally, kept us out of a war into which Team Obama was clearly stumbling, with neither plan, rhyme, nor reason.
The Obama "workday" when he is in D.C., is nothing more than to be on call in the playroom. Sequestered for 10 hours at a time with Reggie Love at his side, he watches multiple ESPN channels on large-screen television, and awaits orders and assignment as they are passed in by Valerie Jarrett.
Meals and drinks are brought in, and Barry can practice reading the teleprompters. He leaves to shoot hoops with Reggie in the WH gym, yo male appearances, and to play golf. Frequent travel further lightens his schedule.
He does not do the job. Nor is he supposed to. Team Obama handles all the work of transforming the Republic.
They’ll never stop blaming Bush. Then they may have to face the reality that the Won is just that and nothing more.
I literally tense up when I see or hear the word “president” in front of that illegal phoney’s name. Our executive branch has been an utter travesty since 2008.
This is liberal angst over the Summers support with a little “what the hell?” regarding Syria. Other than that they continue to create this fantastical Obama.
