We keep hearing this strategy trumpeted, without really knowing what implications are at stake.
What does defunding Obamacare really imply? What does it accomplish. Will ALL the requirements then be gone or delayed? Will the contraception mandate be made null? Will employers' reporting requirements be non-effective?
It angers me when soundbytes are made the policy push without knowing the substance of what is being debated.
I don't know but will ask some of my constitutional law friends.
I do know that adding in those provisions, as well as other pernicious "mandates" covering such things as special care that would pertain only to people who engage in dangerous sexual practices, including anal sex, drug use, and many types of sexual effects, including but not limited to FREE contraception drugs AND abortificants - drugs that produce abortions, i.e. the so-called "morning after drug," the "week after drug" that forces the uterus to expel the fertilized egg (baby in it's first phase.)
Whether or not one thinks that contraception drugs should be paid for by someone else, NO one should be forced to pay for someone else's abortion!!!
I wish it would mean, kill it, burn it to the ground, erase all memory of it.
My point is that I'm afraid defunding Obamacare doesn't mean any of this, in an absolute sense.
You can enforce something without funding it. And this will be the tactic of Obama and his henchmen if Lee and Cruz succeed.
I recall reading that Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) filed an amendment to some other bill that basically killed the border fence.

No, I distinctly remember the news story. It was reported by major outlets. KBH filed an amendment to some unrelated bill that killed the border fence.
I may have to do some searching way back to find it.
I'm sure the IRS has already been up-staffing in preparation for this travesty. It would really be nice to watch them have to fire them all.
I’m sure they have as well. I too would love to see a massive walk-out at the IRS.
