BrickStix LLC, a Hartland company formed around an idea young Greyson MacLean had for making removable stickers for Lego bricks, has reached an agreement with Toys "R" Us that will have the retailer carrying the stickers in in all of its stores.
The company's stickers will be in nearly 600 Toys "R" Us stores, said Matt MacLean, Greyson's father and BrickStix's lawyer.
BrickStix began shipping its patent-pending stickers to the retailer on Thursday, and the product will be available in stores later this month, he said.
They are already sold in smaller toy stores across the country, at Harrods department store in London, and by retailers in Europe, Fiji, Madagascar, Singapore and other countries, MacLean said.
Greyson, 14, came up with the idea for his product when he was 9 years old. He was frustrated with other companies' stickers that wouldn't come off his bricks. So he started making his own decals on paper and taping them to the bricks, but he dreamt of better solutions.
Greyson and his mom, Amy, stumbled on the solution when she bought a new pair of sunglasses. Greyson peeled the cling decal off a lens and went down to the playroom and got a Lego. The two of them tried the cling decal on the Lego, then on other brands of bricks. Not long after that, BrickStix was born in the family's basement.

9 year old Wisconsin lad starts business
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
This is a great example of the American “can do” spirit Obama and the other anti-American Democrats don’t understand and will never be able to kill.
[sarcasm] “He didn’t build that.” [/sarcasm]
Awesome story, thanks for sharing!
I see the entrepreneur of the year in Norway is some girl who “invented” a new social media site.
I think that means a new way of giggling.
Toy R Us going with “gender neutral” toys, will be advertising girls playing with trucks and boys playing in fake kitchens.
Set for life...until Mother Government confiscates his hard-earned cash. ;)
Idea was formulated when he was 9, now he is 14.
It takes an average of 5 years to get a business established.
What kind of pull did/does he have to get to this point, where his product is distributed internationally (Harrods in London )?
There’s more to this story.....
As a child of the late 60's early 70's, Colorforms were a big deal... Colorforms + Legos = $$$$$$.
Big deal, no matter what, they will only have limited success.
'Hardwired' responses from both boys and girls will resist such advertising and toys.
Liberal parents will be terrified and humiliated when their little boy, raised to be a girl, begins making truck sounds and toy guns with his hands.
This is much better, as you can complete a given model, then disassemble it without having to toss the stickers.
Sounds like he took something that was already invented and stuck it on something else that was already invented.
