"...At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it?-- Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!--All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.
At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide..."
~Abraham Lincoln, Address Before the Young Men's Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois, January 27, 1838

Brit Columnist Suggests World Intervention Over US GunsThis is what happens when you quit teaching history. Besides, if they managed to take our guns away, who'd they mooch off next time the Germans attack them?

Perhaps we should call for *cleaver* intervention in Britain.

Cant expect a Manchester Guardian leftist hack to have respect for a law that says that people have a right to keep and bear arms. Oh no; that is only for the all-powerful government.
Ironically, he
claims to specialize in liberty and civil rights . . . but so do all commies.

The last time Britain intervened here, in 1812, it was not a good outcome for them.

Hey Henry, you wanker, come and take them. No, I don't mean send somebody to take them, I mean you, yourself, come take them.
Oh, you won't? Piss off.

Henry, you twit, you Brits already tried to disarm us once, a long time ago when we were weak and outnumbered...and we handed your arse to you.
Don’t even think about trying it again because it would go A LOT worse for you this go around.

doesnt think much of Americas Second Amendment. Nor does he care much for America itself...Sounds typical of the rest of the British world. In Hong Kong many westerners hate our guns, the 2nd Amendment, America in general (and conservatives in particular) as well as religion. Many of them would be happy if the US would just go away.

I have no idea but I am sure that Henry Porter would probably say that all swallows are laden with the burden of our guilt. Or something new agey.

It is because of our guns (2nd Amendment) that America is kept free........so that our military (the strongest and most capable in world history) can keep the Brits (our ally) free...........so that Henry Porter can go on speaking the King's English freely.
