RE :”Boehner: No Funding Bill Without 1-Year Obamacare Delay”

This is more than I expected from Bohner, this could get interesting.

See if this stands.

This is somewhat low hanging fruit as Obama delayed parts he wanted to. Rand suggested it would come down to this weeks ago.

but only if the new health care law is delayed for a year.

Not good enough Boner, no where near good enough.

Just a delay? What is the point of that?

Sounds like a spineless, cowardly way of dealing with something that will destroy our freedom.

Lee said he counted 15 GOP Senators that will vote with him and Cruz on it, thats out of 47 GOPs.

But it may be as high as 20.

FIGHT coward!

You are right. Its not good enough. I say stick with defund, but assuming that the delay is the only thing that will work, I’d add on a bunch of other conditions into a “package”, all of which desize and water down Obamacare. Make it as painful for the Dems as possible and load up the deal with lots of baggage. Then you can claim a long list of meaningful concessions. Don’t let the Dems off easy.

Unfortunately Boehner is both an idiot and a coward who never plays to win and we all suffer the consequences of his ineptitude.

One year will be a month before the election, so there will be time for the bad effects to kick in.

Will they fight though? I rather doubt it, so there'd be no point to a delay.

Might be better to have this atrocity implemented, let people see how costly it is - and get a bunch of conservatives in Congress on the next election. Not that there are many of them around.

I’m not sure what it is, but something is happening in the senate right now.

So that the sheeple remain ignorant of ObamaCare's true horrors until after the 2014 mid-terms.

Wouldn't a more winning strategy be to keep the individual mandate, and let people experience firsthand how awful Obamacare will be? I'm not wishing misery on anyone, but wouldn't this give the Republicans more of a leg to stand on come November of next year?

Exactly. Until the sheeple see how much this will cost them and how bad the coverage is - it won't have an impact. And the few conservatives left in Congress can run against it.

RE :”delaying ObamaCare helps the Democrats IMO”

I dont think so, you mean compared to passing Reids modified CR with full funding no delays?

I want congresses special subsity banned in the CR.

GOP better get used to operating with no money because I don’t know anyone who will donate to them. They are going to be in a financial bind. No money to run on.

But once this is implemented, there will be a lot of takers who will be getting free health care, probably many more people that understand they will be now. So once it’s implemented, the election will be another showdown between takers and makers, and we makers don’t have a good track record of winning those.

I don't think many of the takers will be happy with Obamacare. First, the premiums will be more than most expect, even with a subsidy. But after that, the coverage is pretty expensive. A $500 deductible for name-brand prescriptions. $45 or $50 copay to see a doctor (can't remember which) and a $45 or $50 copay for generic medicines.

Very of the sheeple will think this is the free medical care they voted for.

That's what I thought. Playing right into the liberals' agenda.

ALL of the above are better than implementation as planned. Delay gives time to actually fight, and there’s another court challenge that’s been allowed to go forward.

Delay is insane. It gives more time for the tentacles of the bureaucracy to envelope us.

The RATs for all their screaming desperately want the delay... Boehner fell for the trap.

By having the delay a result of Republican actions, any and ALL problems in the future will be blamed on the Republicans.

The RATs will then campaign for single-payer, just in time to Hillary 2016.

We must defund now.

I think that's a mistake. Here's why:

the system is not ready for primetime, if it goes live next week we can expect all manner of turmoil.

Waiting a year may provide time to work out some of the bugs for a less rocky kick-off.

I'd rather see CRs issued one at a time for specific programs and just neglect to offer a CR for ocare.
