“American conservatives would rather stay home and bitch and moan than get off their lazy butts and hit the streets. They prefer to be nice rather than actively denounce their neighbors, friends and relatives for their liberalism.”

I would like to suggest that we all support the
“Corruption against the Constitution - Shut down DC Trucker Rally”
It’s real easy to sit around and explain why this will not work but if we stand together and support this rally in whatever way we can, maybe we will make a difference.
Follow Ted Cruz example and forget the critics, act on principal.

Oh yea; like Yahoo News is a news venue any self-respecting conservative has anything to do with - NOT. Thus, of what value can the results of any poll on the venue be, given who writes for Yahoo News and who MOST of the readers on the venue are? ZERO.

“It seems to me that when you get the most powerful federal police force on the planet - IRS - doing everything legal and illegal to stop you, along with every major media outlet disrespecting and lying bout you, you might just need to reconnoiter a bit!”

As the saying goes, “if you’re not taking flack you’re not over the enemy” sounds to me like we dropped a couple of bombs over valid targets. I have not seen a “Tea Party” article on my Yahoo page for years, I think 2014 has some establishment knees quivering.

True, we’ve got a very solid tea party movement here in Michigan but few of us have any interest in any organized groups. We do however get out there when it really counts like state conventions.

As far as I know we’re the only state to put a tea partier on the RNC.

“They prefer to be nice rather than actively denounce their neighbors, friends and relatives for their liberalism.

Why demonstrate in the streets when you can pray and make God do the work?

You hit the nail smack square on the head there.

Other countries have mass demonstrations. The USA just has fat people with plenty of TV and food.

For several years I’ve tossed out the idea of people submitting poorly handwritten tax returns and burying just this one agency in paper for fun. It doesn’t take, I’ve never heard it parroted elsewhere. And how easy could such civil disobedience be.

Some have gone out and stood above overpasses with signs against Obama. (He’s a start but what about the other 535) They pick times and places such as not to snarl traffic? WTF?

People will die in their comfy chairs watching the TV before they will lift a finger to save themselves, that is the ugly truth of it. MLB playoff, DWTS, NFL, etc.

Imagine if all the pissed off people showed up in DC, maybe next spring and in greater numbers than the recent 2000 biker rally, or the 200 Muslim March. Get a few million pissed people walking around with nooses in their hands as a prop and it might make it into the evening news.

Well, one can dream but the reality is most would skip such a trip and tune in to CNN for it, 1/2 hour after 1/2 hour, all day.

Perception - rather than reality - is more important to democrats because a small liberal elite is propped up by a mass of stupid somewhat gullible losers...

Dems are banana republic - and fooling their voters is part of the democrat handbook.

Republicans can’t play that game...

I am the Tea Party. You are the Tea Party.

And we are awesome.

Friendly, caring, funny, hard-working, open-minded...
Let everyone know you’re with the Tea Party and do so while being awesome.

They miss the key point, that the Tea Party is in effect a set of principles.

They are embodied in candidates who happen to be Republican for the purposes of elections as there is no designation on the ballot of T.

The MSM doesn’t understand the Tea Party. They do not know what it is. They think in therms of a “Party”. It is a collective of conservative minded people that are pissed about loosing their liberty. They can’t figure out this collective on their terms which is just have a poll. Polls are meaningless. The Tea Party’s strength lies in the grass root collective that can rise up in great numbers when the time is right. (Read: 2014)

Agree, and like your definition.

I always make a small deliberate mistake on my taxes which results in a manual processing and multiple (snail-mail) mailings. I prefer to do it such that they have to cut me a check for a few dollars - not enough to warrant a full-blown audit (although I’ve had those too), but enough to tie up their resources.

It’s the patriotic thing to do ;’)

On a cold snowy March day in 2010 I believe, tens of thousands gathered at the Lincoln Memorial to protect the Vietnam War memorial from planned desecration. There were so many people that the event spilled over to the Mall and even across the bridge to the Arlington Cemetery. Planned meetings among FReepers never occurred because there were so many people friends could simply not be found.

They were the Tea Party people come to DC to meet the left wing traitors as they marched on the streets. The Gadsen and American Flags were everywhere. There was great jubilation. Our time had come.

Alas, it petered out. There has been no similar uprising since.

There was however reaction and dread and fear. In hindsight, Obama put out the word....... destroy the Tea Party. The IRS must destroy their organizational ability. There must be no voice against the cause of liberalism.

We kow now that Obama and all the minions are guilty of crimes against the Republic. Their punishment must be harsh and terrible. There conduct has destroyed our rights and they must be eliminated.

The Tea Parties are doing just fine. We are between election cycles. Many, myself included, needed to rest a bit in preparation for the next wave. I think it's more telling that the Tea Party remains in the news ... daily ... even between major elections. We have become a daily influence instead of one that only had to be dealt with during the campaign months. That's a pretty enormous accomplishment and I commend all my fellow Tea Party-ers -- especially those that keep the camp fires lit while some of us regenerate.

Simple answer- because the lamestream media successfully was able to label the Tea party as something that it is not. Perception is everything in modern America today. Unfortunately.

That's it. The MSM propaganda machine is very powerful. And they will never let anyone or anything on the right gain any traction at all.

It's not like the Reagan years. Back then there were at least some journalists who were really journalists. Today journalism is simply an arm of the liberal wing of the Democratic party. Just look at who the moderators were in the last Presidential debate.

And throw in all the anti-right comments made by TV talk show hosts, entertainers, etc. People WILL start to believe anything they hear often enough.

You both overlook the fact that the Obama minions used the full force of the government to destroy the Tea Parties by obstructing organizational development.

The Obama administration must be overturned for it’s crimes against the Republic that destroyed opposition and threw the election.

Lois Lerner must be tried, convicted and executed for her crimes

Very true! But that is actually related to the point Clarence and I were making. Obama's thugs would have been much less likely to pull that crap had a watchful media been on duty.

Just take a look at the "This Week" news hour. It's anchored by George Stephanopoulos. That guy was Clinton's Chief of Staff! And now he's supposed to be an objective newsman? That's actually unbelievable.

If Obama was filmed killing puppies on the White House lawn with a hammer, Stephanopoulos would be reporting that someone at a Tea Party rally was seen holding a scary-looking knife.
