It's sounding like Cruz will block unanimous consent.

The shut down has been great. It disturbed business-as-usual in DC. It fired up the conservative base.

Cruz is doing what I elected him to do.

what we need to do is overrun the Republican party and use it

*********
Understand your objective but respectfully disagree this can ever be done. The pathetic culture in the GOP is much too deeply ingrained. It will fight reform at every turn.

The GOP can’t successfully fight Democrats but it definitely knows how to tamp down internal insurrections. It will ues every means at its disposal to do this. Don’t underestimate these people. The WILL fight to preserve their own interests.

The House (and probably Senate) will be won or lost need on how well the Republicans can exploit the implosion of healthcare.gov and ObamaCare.

Ordinarily, yes. But the problem is that thanks to caving, if this is true, Boehner will place his entire caucus at risk. This was a fight that, once begun, needed to be fought to the finish. Democrats will be energized and the Republican base has been told, once again, to take a flying leap. It wouldn't surprise me if large numbers of conservatives either stay home or vote against their RINOs. How will Republicans hold the House under those conditions?

“let them tax and spend us over the edge and after the collapse we can pick up the pieces”

My sentiments exactly. Time to check out. Let it fail.

Think I’ll just focus on making as much money as I can, and spending time with my kids.

The conservatives staying home in 2012 got us this unholy mess.

Thanks.

I suspect Boehner will call it quits at the end of his current term

Yes, that’s a good bet.

Perhaps we should start calling him Jean LeBoehner, the Frenchman with the white flag.

For the Democrats, we should replace the donkey with the standard communist hammer and sickle.

For the GOP, we should replace the elephant with the standard white flag of surrender.

Thus, we will have more accurate party symbols.

PING!

The GOP nominating a loser in 2012 got us this unholy mess.

And yes, I did hold my nose for Romney.

It hasn’t been brought to floor yet. Should be at noon after senate briefed. McConnell believes he has Unami pus consent so a quick vote it will pass with 60-65 senators, and the Boehner will put it on floor. It will pass with at least 100 republican votes and almost all of Dems. Total capitulation. The shut down is and was a disaster.

Totally wrong. The disaster is the invisible GOP leadership. Boehner & McConnell never had any intention of engaging the Dems. You can’t win a battle if the Generals don’t want to fight it.

Remember how we are told that we have to vote for the “lesser evil”.

Still evil.

The House conservative Reps can vote their conscience by voting no and the RINOs can vote with the Dems to pass the bill.
Boehner will do the same thing with immigration reform. I suspect Boehner will call it quits at the end of his current term,

That makes me sick. Traitor to country and in on a set lifestyle. Vile, evil man...if this is true.

Good, because once this current mess is over, we get amnesty. And who is gonna fight it now?

Once amnesty happens, the reason to vote will be gone for good.

With Boehner sending message he can hold up for 30 hours not 60. Did you see article from Houston Chronicle? Un- endorsing Cruz?
