We shall see what happens when America is pissed off.

I have been a reliable Republican voter for my entire life. If this is the way it goes down then I will continue to vote in the primaries for real conservatives but if they are defeated I will sit out the general election. Yes the Dems will get to run things if conservatives do this - let them - let them tax and spend us over the edge and after the collapse we can pick up the pieces. I won’t have a compliant hand in this charade anymore.

Well it won’t happen because of me. I WILL vote for my current Congresswoman, Rep Martha Roby, Republican, 2nd Alabama.

Why would anyone on Free Republic vote for a democrat? I could see not voting at all, but let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater! There are still a lot of TEA party Republicans in the House!

Agree with you. The only way to move forward. As they say in business, “cut your losses” and reinvest your time, money and energy into something with more potential.

Well who didn’t know he would do that? I’ve been waiting for it all along. I think he can kiss his speakership goodbye. Frankly its worth it to raise the debt ceiling one more time to get rid of his sorry azz.

The GOP will probably lose the House over this decision.

Then so be it. The Repubs were not elected to the House to be DemocRATs.

Boehner will announce that he will not seek re-election if he actually goes through with this. Or...he will lose his speakership.

The only way we’ll get a viable third party is with a movement of current Republican politicians banding together and starting it.

Ok is there anyone who doesn’t believe that the Dems are going to clean the GOP’s clock when they have their converence about budget and spending cuts?

Just a big political soap opera series for the last two weeks.

Two weeks of drama ending in a complete cave. Sad, but typical.

Time for the Tea Party to leave the GOP, they cannot win with them.
******************************************************************
Just what the Democrats and progressives everywhere would absolutely LOVE to have happen. The progressives fear that the conservatives are close (likely after the 2014 election) to taking over the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives. And they also fear that the Republicans (with 2014 yielding newly elected Tea Party Senators reinforcing those already in the Senate — such as Cruz) are about to regain their Senate majority.

So folks, let’s not self-destruct just when we’re on the verge of this and have things moving in the right direction. Let’s continue the process of electing true conservatives to Congress—to include replacement of Quislings such as Lindsey Graham.

Let’s not be defeatist or encourage defeatism.

RINO’s need to be replaced in their primary by a conservative and then get the replacement elected.

Kind of like the Dallas Cowboys with Tony Romo.
