Sadly, the Supreme Court ruled otherwise. That damage Roberts did that day, cannot be understated. That was a horrible, depressing day.

We have two MASSIVE roadblocks. Obama and Reid. Get rid of them, we win.

You forgot NBC-BS, CBS-BS, ABC-BS, CNN-BS, PMS-NBC-BS, not to mention the political comedian/pundits Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert and Bill Maher. For those of you who DON'T live in bright red areas of the country, these outlets, along with their print partners, have done nothing but blame the Republicans in general and Tea Partiers in particular for the last 2 1/2 weeks of "massive government shutdowns".

Not to mention the gearing up of how the Wascally Wepublicans are going to force the entire world economy to collapse tonight when the overspending cap isn't increased by 60 ba-zillion dollars. Someone I know was convinced that the sun won't come up on Friday, the oceans will cover the entire continent and all senior citizens (she is one) will be left destitute overnight because the overspending limit isn't raised.

“They also didn’t bend b/c they knew they didn’t have to.”

What did Obama/Reid have to gain by negotiating, ON ANYTHING?

When gub’ment paychecks get delayed a week, the media blamed Republicans.
If EBT cards stopped working, the media blames the Republicans.
When the Welfare checks stop, the media blames Republicans.
When the economy collapses, the media blames Republicans.

We lost this fight, no matter how principled it was, before it ever began.

DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND THE POWER OF MEDIA PROPAGANDA, YET?

You are absolutely right on the money. Defund was not an option. Nor a good idea. We took a hit. We will recover. We NEED to win in 2014 and ‘16. NEED.

Yeah, I’ve paid a lot of attention. As always RINOs are everywhere.

You want to give up prematurely.

That attitude all along is what reduced the potency of what was being tried.

It is not over yet and it STILL remains that the only honorable and constitutional thing to do with Obamacare is not to submit to blackmail, and not to fund it.

The world will not end if we stick to our guns and refuse to fund it.

<...”The Left knew in the original Obamacare battles, that if it passed, it would NEVER go away”.....>

The Right knew this as well. The battle was lost then. All this is is Congress making it look like they work for the people ....when in reality it isn’t and never will be about the people. The Global agenda and those in our Congress will see to that...and are.

Exactly. Right on the money. Hence, when the elections and change this thing. When we have the numbers in Congress and Presidency AND we still DONT do anything. Then hammer away, b/c I will be hammering away with you.

“Obamacare was launched. The launch was a disaster. So tell me again why is he creating a diversion by protesting against the closure of some monuments that people have had a chance to visit for decades? Cruz did more harm than good. If he was planning to cave it would have been better if he caved last month. But I guess he had “nothing to gain” by doing that.”

I completely disagree with you, 100%

Cruz is a force..as noted by the MSM and the GOPEEER haters who came out of the woodwork to skin him alive while supporting their “go along to get along strategy”,,similar to what you’ve described he should have done.

You may not yet see it manifested, but Cruz has pulled on some very dusty yet passionate strings and people are responding,,and the Dems and Rinos do NOT like it or else they would have ignored it.

I think you are very much mistaken in your assessment.

You might want to talk to those who have received threatening letters from Obamacare people after signing up and then changing their minds to opt-out.

It was a losing battle.

So too was the Alamo, but without it, we probably wouldn't have won Texas independence. Sometimes, you have to take the bullet! Sometimes you have to engage the enemy to see their full force (that is what Cruz did - he exposed the GOPe is as corrupt as the Dems & Obama).

I think Cruz was fighting for the long haul, not for today. I can see the tactics as plain as day. He has exposed ALL the corruption in Washington. People may still choose to see that only one side or the other is corrupt or wrong, but he did us all a favor in waging this battle.

Some on here have said, "He distracted from the failures of the Obamacare rollout." BS! He showed that one side and ONLY one side is willing to fight against this failure! Since people are going to be dealing with the Obamacare fiasco for the next 2.5 months, trust me, they will remember that Cruz and Tea Party were fighting against this stupid machine.

I’m just going to ask you a single question:

How many people are on your Twitter List?

The Supreme Court is not the final word of whether laws are unconstitutional.

If the Congress decides they are not constitutional, it is CONGRESS’s job to get rid of them. Period.

Congress may do that in various ways, and one of them is zeroing out budgets and prohibiting the use of money for certain purposes.

(Ironically Robert’s decision that the question of interest was a tax made Obamacare even more unconstitutional since the law did not properly originate in the HOUSE.)

Are you working for John Boehner?

There are times that all that’s left to do is fight. This is not the case in this scenario, IMO. We have elections coming up. We can fight there. That is our Alamo moment.

I am aware of some of those reports of “threatening letters from Obamacare people” to some.

I am advocating getting rid of Obamacare and any related enforcement. Step 1 is defund now. Revenue raising measures must start in the house. Step 2 (which will have to wait) is repeal.

What is your point with the issues about “threatening letters from Obamacare people” ?

Correct. ALL media that supports the left are evil to their core.

Travis wrote a wonderful essay on how to "effectively" deal with the traitors in the media.

Short of a collapse, I can't see how the Statists in both parties can ever be dislodged.

All Republics in history have died. We are clearly witnessing the destruction of ours..

See, this is were you and I disagree. I believe that Cruz has lit a fire in many people who will take up the fight! Hell Axelrod even admits that our actions over the last two weeks has not hurt the Republicans.

The problem are the GOPe who live inside that bubble around D.C. and they only hear the echo chamber from the naysayers, the media and even some Republicans who scream gloom and doom if they don't bend over for Obama.

Did any of you see the number of people who marched on D.C. last weekend on only seven to ten days notice? Hello? You think that don't resonate with Americans? I have die hard Democrat family members who are outraged by the actions of the Democrats, because they see Cruz as standing up for the average American. They don't agree with half of his positions, but they are second thinking their blind devotion. THAT'S HOW YOU WIN WARS! Make the enemy second guess their chances (you know like you and the media have the GOPe doing everyday).

I think, with the fire that Cruz lit we can and will see 2014 and 2016 as our San Jacinto's - NOT our Alamo!
