I pray you are right. At least we both agree that 2014 and 2016 are huge for this country.

If Boehner gets his way with illegal immigration amnesty, the 2014 and 2016 and so on will be irrelevant.

The RATs will have millions of new voters.

I am certain that the RATs have been working with Mexico to route illegals to the various states to help them gain an electoral lock in the future.

The evil RATs have been playing for absolute power and they are well on their way to getting it.

I don’t believe any of that. I pray that you are mistaken.

The GOP conservative should rebel in the House against Boehner and vote him out as the Speaker and replace him with a conservative Speaker willing to do battle and take Obama to the mat.

In fact the GOP should take the following line in my opinion in talking to Obama.

"Look, Barry, we have the votes to stop you cold and we have decided to do that.

"We control the government funduiing and we are going to exercuise that control.

"We are talking about a complete shutdown where not so much as a dime will be available for you to even heat the White House, so get ready to stay at the local Holiday Inn on your own dime for the duration.

"the only thing we will fund during that time is the US military you hate so much.

"When you are ready to talk about seriously creating a budget...one that is balanced by the way, and reducing the debt...and we are talking about a true reduction in the actual amount we owe, not just a reduction in the percentage of your spending increases, and we are talking anout an end to ObamCare. When you are ready to seriously talk to us about those things...get back with us.

"Oh, BTW, Barry. One other thing we will fund is the following. The House of Reprentatives will meet each day with the express purpose of impeaching your sorry backside every single day for the next 60 working days. Impeach you each day on different charges. 60 times, Barry. When you get ready to talk to us, then the first thing the Senate will do will be to act on those 60 impeachments before anything else.

"So, we have the votes, and we are firm. Give us a call when you are ready to talk. Bye now."
That's the discussion a real Speaker of the House should be having with Obama.

I am going to try to memorize that for the little “discussions” I like many of us have each day...

Obamacare is not going anywhere. That’s what you should learn. Not because the Republicans aren’t in power but because politicians are. They will have as much data on people as they want and will soon be able to justify anything (from a federal perspective) based on the need to keep cost of health care low. It has nothing to do with Republicans not being in power and if you think that it does then you really haven’t learned anything

Even if we win the senate and the presidency, they don’t have the balls to get rid of it.

They might "repeal and replace" as a token gesture but when's the last time any entitlement was ever taken away? Any GOP replacement will still include the subsidies for "low income" health insurance and will still mandate that pre-existing conditions are covered. Maybe some tweaking around the edges, but the basic structure of Obamacare is here to stay. Because the GOP cannot win a presidential election when the other side can accurately say they're going to take people's health insurance away. The coalition of the "takers" combined with well-off, emotional women who will find that "mean" will result in a win for the Dems every time.

Yep.

They’ll take away your medicare, social security, disability, unemployment, food stamps, student loans, birth control and your healthcare.

And they might even kill your dog.

Let’s remember when Bush, Sr. raised taxes as president, Newt Gingrich and his allies in Congress revolted in a very public way. Gingrich didn’t win that fight, and a bill even more favorable to the Dems was passed with a coalition of Dems and squishy Repubs. This led to Bush’s ouster as president and Newt’s eventual takeover of Congress 3 years later.

The RINO vs. conservative fight is not new. And the defunding strategy was primarily about that, not about winning anything from the Dems. This was done to rally conservatives to vote RINOs out and find new conservative leaders for the party. Now we need to vote in more conservative troops to help the likes of Cruz fight the Dems in the future.

There has been no one on the Republican side to rally the base. That’s why we lost last year. We will keep losing unless we rally around Cruz and the candidates he gets behind. We all know Cruz shot to the top of the GOP polls after his filibuster. So he succeeded at rallying the base. Now we can’t let the RINOs and liberal media stop us from supporting him. They are terrified of him because he has the ability to rally the conservative crowd into a powerful force.

“I have nothing to gain from delaying this vote by one or two days,”

Spoken like a true self serving lawyer.

He would be the only vote against cloture; even Rand Paul would have voted against him. And if he did another filibuster on his own, he would have been shut down by Reid after those two days, just like the last time.
