His legacy? My hope is that by the time his oldest is 21, he will be such a pariah that his kids will opt to change their names.

I would say throw down you punk, but after the last few years if what he has done hasnt got the civil war started, nothing will. As long as people get enough gas to travel, and enough money to play, they wont do a GD thing to stop from becoming slaves to the elite or the scum of the earth.

This SOB knows this and will keep on keepin on.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C. S. Lewis

All who doubt the wisdom of Lewis might watch the video of the President's remarks at a National Prayer Breakfast. There, Obama arrogantly misappropriated Jesus's spiritual challenge to individuals, claiming those words as validating and authorizing abusive use of coercive power by himself and his cronies to "take" from some in order to buy votes and accumulate more power to themselves--all in the name of "helping" the beneficiaries of such unconstitutional "takings."

Hear Samuel Adams:

"Is it now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent, it is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice.” - Samuel Adams

And:

“The utopian schemes of leveling and a community of goods, are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government unconstitutional.” - Samuel Adams

“Energy independence is one of them. Making sure that we’re investing in the best schools, so that our children can compete in this new global economy; rebuilding our infrastructure, not just our energy infrastructure, but our ports and our roads and our bridges and our air traffic control systems, so that we stay on the cutting edge; making sure we’re investing in research and development...”

None of which are within the constraints of the enumerated powers contained in the US Constitution.

Just sayin’

“They’re just good, common-sense American ideas,”

Obama wouldn’t know a good common sense idea if it bit him in the ass. All he knows are old tired communist ideas.

The dictator in chief needs no constitution or Congress. He can rule by decree and an emasculated nation does - NOTHING.

Of course it’s not. Most FReepers are no better than the RINOs in Congress. All talk, but spineless when it comes to actual action. A lot of “thank you sir, may I have another one sir”.

If these are such great ideas, Mr. President, such good non-partisan ideas, then it should be no problem to get strong bipartisan support in Congress for them, right? What am I missing?

Mr. President, we live in a constitutional republic. You are the President. Your powers are limited. Congress has certain powers. If you have such great ideas, which transcend the Republican/Democrat divide, then it should be a straightforward process to gain support in Congress for your ideas. There are limits to what you can do by executive order or through administration policies through agencies such as the EPA.

“And when I’m hopefully playing with some grandkids, but not too soon, because [Mr. Obama’s daughters] Malia and Sasha are only 15 and 12, I want to know that what I did made the world a better place for them,”

Hmmmmmmm... OBAMA: Mar 31, 2008
“I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby,” Obama said

I want them to know that not just they and their friends got a great education, but children all across America got a great education..…That’s what motivates me. That’s what gets me up every day.”

"Education" = lessons learned the hard way. Excruciating pain is Obama's favorite teacher.
