Airbus plane appears in Seattle ad championing efforts to woo Boeing

An advertisement placed in The Seattle Times on Wednesday by a group hoping to encourage Washington state to keep up its fight to secure the coveted work on the new Boeing 777 includes a notable miscue.

At the top of the full-page ad, under the all-caps text "The Future of Washington," is pictured not a Boeing jet, but rather an A320 from archrival Airbus.

Possibly sabotage, but it didn’t work. Boeing came home from the airshow in UAE with orders for 777Xs approaching a $Trillion. Airbus booked less than half that. Buy AMERICAN!

The lunar module was built by Grumman Aerospace. However, to get it to the moon, it needed a ride on the biggest booster known to man, The first stage of the Saturn V. Boeing built the S-1C.

Clowns don’t know the difference between a Boeing 737 and an Airbus A320. And it’s the 777X that is in question. The 737 is assembled in Renton.

About as brilliant as the DNC using images of Russian ships in their 2012 convention tribute to the US? Navy.

Boeing does a good job of listening to its customers and giving them what they want. Airbus tends to either be a copycat, or force something like the A380 on its customers.

Maybe this group should of asked someone who knew what a 777 looked like. Anyone who has seen one once can spot them again. Its the one with the really big engines.

Just for what it’s worth, at the source there’s a link to a video for news about EADS & the A380, in which the Reuters reporter states “the A380 hasn’t seen any new orders in a year”.

News that’s usually hard to pick out...
