EDITORIAL: The Potemkin website The Obamacare facade is beginning to crumble
The Washington Times ^ | 12-12-13 | Editorial Board

Oppressive regimes throughout history have built cities of false facades meant to impress from afar, concealing the embarrassing condition of the places. In its quest to persuade Americans that Obamacare is working, the Obama administration has built the most expensive Potemkin website yet.

Rep. Darrell E. Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, wants to bulldoze the facade of Healthcare.gov to find what lies beneath, but Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is telling her aides they better keep quiet, or else. In a Dec. 6 letter to Creative Computing Solutions, she instructed the Healthcare.gov construction workers not to talk to Congress.

The directive could be considered a crime. “The federal obstruction laws,” Mr. Issa wrote in a letter Wednesday, “reflect the fact that Congress‘ right of access to information is constitutionally based and critical to the integrity and effectiveness of our oversight and investigative activities.”

Behind the smiling faces on the front end of the Obamacare website are millions who’ve been cast into the cold as new health care mandates are designed to demolish existing insurance. Pressed about the cancellations, Mrs. Sebelius told a congressional panel that Americans are “thrilled” at the choices they now have with Obamacare. But not quite everyone. Jim Hoft, a conservative blogger, recently found that a strep bacteria was eating a hole in his heart, causing a series of strokes. His private insurance allowed him to go to the doctors at St. Louis University, who saved his life.

Then land on her with both feet, Mr. Issa, or STFU.

I wonder if God has turned His back on us, as we have done to Him.

50 million babies aborted. Sodomy as "marriage." Does anyone remember the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah?

Sounds like they know what they want and know how to get it.

The fact that they get away with it doesn’t make the Pubbies “the Stupid Party” as we often read, even here, it means there is a constant war without real bloodshed.

This won’t be the case forever — unless everyone winds up perfectly content to live as serfs, which is the normal existence throughout the Earth, and throughout human history.

It’s what “consensus building” is all about.

Of course, this doesn’t mean there will be economic equality — far from it, there *has* to be a power elite which lives in gated communities and rules with an iron hand, y’know, in order to prevent counter-revolutionary activity.

God never will turn his back on us....

We simply have to stop running away from Him and turn around (repent)...he will be right there...waiting on us to stop running...

That is what is so crazy about this Congress.

No matter how bad things are the Democrats stay together and vote for whatever this fraud tells them to vote for.

The Democrat party does not represent Americans it Represents the party. When you vote for a Democrat you do not get an individual who will vote his own mind , it is a one vote party. They should all go home and just leave their proxy to Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi.

There really is no need for the rest of them to show up on the Hill at all.

The French Revolution was not very appealing...

The terms “left” and “right” arose as a consequence of the seating in the French legislative chamber. Guess which side was feeding everyone to the guillotine under the auspices of the Department of Public Safety, and also, guess which side “won”.

The phrase "cities of false facades meant to impress from afar" could just as easily be applied to Issa's investigations as to the HHS mess. "Dead-End Darrell's" investigations produce zilch.

Lets have a hearing, pat each other on the back, and go back to destroying the country. It is not quite done yet.

The ObamaCare website may be a Potemkin Village — a barely functioning operation where few people are actually signing up for health insurance, covered by a false façade of success.

However, America’s health-insurance companies are ACTUAL, FUNCTIONING entities, employing hundreds of thousands of workers, which will soon stop functioning if the fraudulent ObamaCare website continues to NOT sign up millions of premium-paying customers.

In the real world, the one in which Americans outside of Washington live, the health-insurance industry will go bankrupt under existing ObamaCare rules.

The deadline for signing up to be covered next year is a mere nine days away. It will be interesting to watch the Obama family flouncing around as usual in the Hawaiian surf, enjoying their slurpees, while the American economy begins to come crashing down.

Many insurance companies refused to participate in the exchanges. They are more likely to survive.

The French Revolution appeals more each and every day.

The French Revolution was not very appealing...
Mob rule and blood lust...

Ann Coulter's book, Demonic, spend two excellent chapters explaining the French revolution. The French revolution may be where we are headed, but it describes what happens when an unstable democracy is in control - mob rule that can be demagogued into acting emotionally.

This administration can only hope for the populous to rise up like this. The result would look like Shay's Rebellion on steroids. The government has all the nice toys: The NSA, the drones, DHS, the federalized local police forces. This administration wants serfdom, thus puts out tons of cognitive dissonance to try to thoroughly demoralize the patriots while buying off the low-information voters, but if there are uprisings, they will be viciously put-down under martial law until they achieve the same result.
