“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been fired from the reality program following his controversial remarks in GQ magazine regarding homosexuality.
A+E Networks, parent company of A&E, has released the following statement to Variety:
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.”
And if God says phooey on Satan, that falls flat.

To be honest, I think tht A&E has been looking for a reason to dump DD.

Contractually, A+E is probably doing this under a ‘moral clause’ (Yes, ironic)- that his statements brought disrepute upon the show.
However that may very well not hold up in a court of law considering the nature of the show.
So a+E may have lost their contractual rights by breaking the contract.

Yes, please somebody who knows how please put up a list of A&E sponsors with e-mail and phones numbers so we can hit back fast.
Also, who will it hurt if we do not by any of the many DD items for sale in stores like Wal-Mart..should we boycott them too. Who would it hurt most if I don’t by that DD lunch bag I had my eye on?
I would like to get a shirt now with Phil on it to show support but not if it helps A&E in any way.
The next bigger thing is Christ. I don’t know what you are getting at, and please don’t play cutesie... if we disagree theologically we disagree theologically. But it’s time to put the Christian cards on the table.
A&E needs the Robertsons a lot more than they need A&E.

Didn’t know if you were coming across with something like Some Established Worship Congregation has to back this thing. That’s not what made Duck Dynasty great. The Pope didn’t endorse it, the Archbishops or whoever of Orthodoxy didn’t, Billy Graham didn’t. This was grass roots!
Is he fired or just on indefinite suspension?
Frankly they should have given him a raise and more air time. Good for Phil. He knows the truth and is not afraid to speak it
I’d tell them something like that with DD they have the best thing they ever had, and they’d be colossally stupid to torpedo it.

It could have legal merit, either way...
Since we do not have a copy of the contract (it is probably smaller than ObamaCare), it is unlikely any of us could do anything more than speculate...
I do believe all here would agree that this is indicative of the times we live in and that the letigious nature of the worlds population has yet again proven that you cannot protect even your own property and intellectual rights to ANYTHING, anymore...
This family is probably going to lose everything, and that would be a tragedy in and of itself...
Same here. If Phil is gone, so am I! And, I just downloaded their “Duck the Halls” Christmas album.
It matters. Anyhow if you can get Some Established Church Congregation behind it that’s nice and won’t be refused. But grass roots is the fundamental model.
