TORONTO (AP) — Canada's highest court struck down the country's anti-prostitution laws Friday, a victory for sex workers who had argued that a ban on brothels and other measures made their profession more dangerous. The ruling drew criticism from the conservative government and religious leaders.
The court, ruling in a case brought by three women in the sex trade, struck down all three of Canada's prostitution-related laws: bans on keeping a brothel, making a living from prostitution, and street soliciting. The ruling won't take effect immediately, however, because the court gave Parliament a year to respond with new legislation, and said the existing laws would remain in place until then.

“They’re calling it “child trafficking” instead of prostitution. There’s no mention of penalties leveled at the johns who keep them in business.”
There is a big push to publicize this in my area due to the upcoming Super Bowl. We normally have prostitutes in some of the urban areas (and increasingly with Asians in “massage parlors” in suburban areas), but I think you really have to look for their services to find them - it isn’t done much openly anymore.
Non Canadians do not understand. They have had the euivalent of the ERA amendment ( which failed in the USA)for women for a generation.

This ruling is culturally a part of the ERA movement for Canadian Women ( Gender Equality), and as far as the men are concerned, if wife or GF turns femino Nazi, just go down the street and pay for attention.

Govt. can use the “ not withstanding clause” to basically ignore the activist ruling but they won`t. They`re small ‘ l ‘ liberal conservatives running Canada. There are no abortion laws despite the fact the liberal conservative party could easily pass a law banning the practice.
PREDICTION: All drugs will be legal. Hookers on street corners while heroin addicts shoot up while driving or walking down the street.

Child trafficking will be made legal at some point. There is nothing in this world that leftist vermin hate more than children. A child will sell for less than a piece of packaged steak.

I agree that child trafficking will eventually be de-criminalized, if only to let the perverts molest them (by lowering the age of consent to 6).
