The point is not that they are right now capable of any major sortee with this carrier and its strike force. They do not have an air wing yet. But they are practicing with more and more aircraft. To date, they have had up to three on board at once, trapping and taking off, over and over again with different pilots as you might imagine.
The point is that in the space of ten years they have gone from basically a brown water Navy with antiquated 1970s technology to this. And they are building more like gangbusters. so the point is we must be vigilant. In another 10-15 years they hope to have 4 or 5 carrier groups, with the DDGs, FFGs, and SSNs to escort them,, and the AOR cvessels to support them. They have developed full UNREP and VERTREP capabilities while doing all of this. Five such carrier groups will be a HUGE swing of balance in the WESTPAC.
“Yes, the Chicoms want a place at the table, and if they can’t get it, they will invade Formosa. [Yes, I know].”
They can partner with the Brits... they’re pretty good swimmers.
And of course the baby steps to establiching their ability to own the sea and air over places like Taiwan, Spratley Is. etc etc etc will be made easier by being able to “Hot” rotate such BG’s while we still have to transite with one or two at the most over a hostile Pacific with their SSN’s...
Yes, it is a difficult senario, but not one we have not encountered before...
The bad thing is we’ll have to do it with less...And with personnel who are not as well trained, motivated, prepared for such “high-tempo” transits...
All they have to do is bearly put to sea, and they are in the mix...
It’s its!
Not going to happen. The uniparty can't sell enough fiat debt domestically to keep up with transfer payments. The chinks send us stuff to sell at Wally World in exchange for federal reserve notes which are used to buy our debt.

Consider that when it comes to a shooting war that the Chinese Naval facilities are going to catch several waves of cruise missiles targeting dry docks, refueling areas and repair shops. Those CVBG’s are going to have nothing to come home to. Probably catch 1 or 2 in port too. 4 or 5 carriers means that you’ll probably have at least 1 in port for overhaul/re-fit.
That works both ways - the Chinese have an awful lot of cruise and conventional theater-ballistic missiles. If a war broke out, the threat to US bases in the western Pacific would enormous.
Love it when people talk IT. I - T ... IT’S ... Breakfast of the Gods!
