A satanic group unveiled designs Monday for a 7-foot-tall statue of Satan it wants to put at the Oklahoma state Capitol, where a Ten Commandments monument was placed in 2012.
The New York-based Satanic Temple formally submitted its application to a panel that oversees the Capitol grounds, including an artist's rendering that depicts Satan as Baphomet, a goat-headed figure with horns, wings and a long beard that's often used as a symbol of the occult. In the rendering, Satan is sitting in a pentagram-adorned throne with smiling children next to him.
"The monument has been designed to reflect the views of Satanists in Oklahoma City and beyond," temple spokesman Lucien Greaves said in a statement. "The statue will also have a functional purpose as a chair where people of all ages may sit on the lap of Satan for inspiration and contemplation."
The Satanic Temple maintains that the Oklahoma Legislature's decision to authorize a privately funded Ten Commandments monument at the Capitol opened the door for its statue. The Ten Commandments monument was placed on the north steps of the building in 2012, and the Oklahoma chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union has sued to have it removed.

I know someone will ask me, "Do you really mean, at this time of day, to reintroduce our old friend the devilhoofs and horns and all?" Well, what the time of day has to do with it I do not know. And I am not particular about the hoofs and horns. But in other respects my answer is "Yes, I do." I do not claim to know anything about his personal appearance. If anybody really wants to know him better I would say to that person, "Don't worry. If you really want to, you will Whether you'll like it when you do is another question."
I believe he did that already...
I don’t have any problem with the statue at all. Someone there in OK simply needs to inscribe a scripture reference to the bottom of the Ten Commandments. That reference is Deut. 30:16-19 and leave it at that. In fact they can do all of Deut 29 and 30 for a more complete synopsis.
The evil one made himself present even in the garden. The choices were the same then, as now: to choose between right/wrong or good/evil.
I think people have so blurred the lines that they can’t remember that there is a difference between the two. Perhaps putting them side by side along with artifacts of what they represent could be a good thing. Like on the side of the commandments, baskets of bread, fish, parents hugging children and on the satanic side, dead babies, war, smallpox...
welll...we aren’t supposed to have images of things in heaven so that won’t work, and satan’s only words that I recall is to go ahead and disobey god. Now, we have all of history to show the results of such a wicked decison. War, famine, pestilence, death...
So, if that’s what they want to proclaim, then have at it! We can watch them all bow and know who loves evil.
Yeah, it would sure be a shame if someone latched onto it with a log chain and dragged it down to the sewage plant. I’m sure the authorities would not sleep until the rascals were brought to justice.
An answer worthy of Solomon.
2Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Looking at that picture of the statue all I could think of is that those kids had better run for their lives before Satan bites their heads off.
Did Satan endorse Obamacare? Looks like it. Child sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, Obama as president.
“Old Testament”. Cue the music to Ghostbusters.
I don’t know why people have started typing the name of God with a lower case g. We never fail to capitalize the names of mere humans, but I see “god” more and more often these days.
Baal?
Molok. The one who needed to be fed little children.
I am sure it was consulted. Death panels. Abortion on demand which kills life. Its DNA is all over the place.
If they build it and someone blows it up, that will be a hate crime.
Hate of, uh, lack of something?
I'm sure they would wish a human satan on their own kids.
When you see a reference in the Old Testament about "passing through the fire" -- whether or not it mentions Moloch, that's what it is talking about.
And the sacrifice of babies to this (small-g) god resulting in their deaths is why many pro-lifers talk about abortion as a sacrifice to Moloch (in this case, many babies are killed by saline burns with a saline-type abortion).
>> the views of Satanists
And what might they be?
In the drawing, it's hard to see detail on the children. The boy does have a passing resemblance to Barack, though. Once rendered in 3-D, we'll be able to get a better look at those ears.
Do these people understand how long eternity really is?
The pro-aborts are serving Moloch.
