Violent protests in the Spanish city of Burgos went into a third day Sunday, with street demonstrators venting frustration at the council's decision to reduce the size of a road by half, and remove a significant number of parking spaces.

This is Agenda 21, Sustainable Living BS. Seams the Spanish are smarter than the people here in Los Angeles where our Mayor Garcetti is on Facebook this morning talking about the greening of L.A. and if you look at the comment section of Garcetti you will see most people are for it.
The city of Los Angeles has a plan, and that is to force people into subsidized housing on subsidized dedicated bus and rail lines leading to an economic center along their transportation corridor.
To get people to move into this housing as we hit the 20 year mark for our last major earthquake, the city is allowing developers to build taller buildings if they set aside some low income housing. This way one third of the residents will be low income and two thirds of the residents will subsidize the housing and transportation creating desegregated housing because forced school bussing didnt work 30 years ago.
The idea is to make the bottom level, retail, and the residents need only go downstairs to their place of employment.
You have to force people to live in the projects, so to achieve that end; you put the bus and trains on street level and give them priority creating traffic congestion for the people in cars. Then you narrow some of the busiest streets, putting in little tiny parks that used to be parking spaces, you allow retailers to build with fewer parking spaces, you allow rickshaws to congest the street, you make it illegal to get mad at people on bicycles and you create bicycle lanes that used to be for cars.
That earthquake 20 years ago destroyed so much housing that it depressed the real estate market. The second floor of my wifes apartment came down on her, she is lucky to be alive. Condo owners had a rude awakening when they found out they were responsible for their entire complex.
Fixing a house after an earthquake can sometimes be a little hard, like if your foundation is 6 inches higher on one side than the other, or you have cracks running through the foundation, water leakage that causes mold.
I still live here. Im still in the San Fernando Valley, but I just bought an older single story home on the outside of their transportation corridor.
They are pikers..... that is so 20th century.
The real money to be stolen is in Green Projects.
Soylendra stole more money than all the Spanish road projects in history
Edited to reflect reality.
‘Complete Streets’ is the name for this particular toxin here in St. Louis. Bike nuts - who comprise less than one percent of regular road users but who pretend their numbers are legion - insist that regional transportation agencies do exactly what unleashed the Spaniards’ rage: ‘road diets.’ In other words, four lane roads - with two driving lanes in each direction - are winnowed to one driving lane in each direction, and a ‘bikes only’ lane striped for each of the other two. Thus, half the road is reserved for the seven or eight bike riders who cycle on a daily basis. And thousands of motorists are left to idle and curse. But it’s ‘green” and “progressive,” so it’s all good. And if you object, you’re a hater, or, even worse, a watcher of “Faux News.” The goal, of course, is to make driving a motor vehicle such a pain in the butt that fewer and fewer people will choose to do so. And with the removal of the car, so goes the masses’ ability to ‘go’ - to get the heck away from the hellhole ghettos that the leftwing wants to herd us into under the guise of “sustainable neighborhoods.’
