The Wall Street Journal/NBC poll asked people if a number of issues were a priority — creating jobs, promoting pre-K education, etc. From First Read:
But just as House GOP leaders are considering a possible immigration push for later this year, the poll shows that only 39% think immigration should be a priority for this year. It’s one of the few issues we tested where majorities of Democrats, independents, and Republicans all agree that it should NOT be a priority. Go figure.

If what you see in politics makes no sense, follow the money. The GOP’s masters have told them this is what they’ll do.
No one ever lost money underestimating the intelligence of the House Republican leadership.
Clearly they have motives based on information or concerns (or goals) of which we are not aware.
When someone’s actions make no sense, they are motivated by something we do not see.
Because they no longer fear damage to a political party from the fall-out.
If either party wins, the Demcorat and Republican leaderships has won.
Why?
To get it over with so its not an issue in the 2016 election.
But Dems will just demand more after a deal.
They are not like (many) conservatives are , they are willing to make progress inch by inch.
Only chance to stop the Amnesty bill is for the House not to consider any immigration related bill at all.

Tell them to stop all Amnesty or immigration bills.they are all trojan horse bills. some will promise border security that will never be enforced anyway.
Bachmann explained it . The House will write a border security bill only . then in conference the senate will add the virus and then bring it back to the house. then the conservatives won’t vote for it but democrats will all vote for it so then they only need 10% of republicans to pass Amnesty and the virus that will destroy America. so any bill at all will be added the virus . so best thing is for Boner to not let any immigration bill at all come out of the House. that is the only hope . call boner and the members of the House.

It could have a lot to do with the U. S. Chamber of Commerce pressuring them to amnesty the current resident illegals. Just think how many low paying, unskilled jobs the businessmen will be able to fill with the next wave of illegals that will pour in when they do.
Because obama has pictures of Boehner and Roberts doing the nasty?

Are local chambers of commerce affiliated with Donohue and the U.S. Chamber of Crony Captitalists? If so, some local boycotts might be in order.
The whole purpose is to pass amnesty now so its not debated in 2016 primaries and general election. They don't want a repeat of the ‘you have no heart’ and the ‘self deportation’ debates.
If they were to pass it now the Novembers election is next and 2016 election is a long way from now.
They figure if they don't it will keep coming up.
I am sure there are other reasons they have but this one I can see they have.
Immigration is a trap issue and democrats are better at trapping Republicans than Republicans are at mouse-trapping Democrats. Be advised.
Probably they only way they can snatch defeat from victory in November, so as Republicans they naturally seek it out like a lemming seeks a cliff.
Because with millions of people out of work, we need to import another 20 or 30 million people.
