CNN host Piers Morgan says people under the age of 25 should not be allowed to buy guns, in light of recent shootings around the country.
Wading into the national gun debate, Morgan took to Twitter this week to argue about what he called the "absurdity" of the Second Amendment.
He pointed out that the recent Maryland mall shooter, Darion Marcus Aguilar, was 19-years-old. He reasoned that people can't drink alcohol before the age of 21 or rent a car before turning 25, so the government should establish similar standards for gun ownership.
"The 19yr-old mall shooter in Maryland was not legally allowed to buy an alcoholic drink until 21," Morgan tweeted. "But was able to legally buy a shotgun."
"It's almost impossible to rent a car under the age of 25 in America - why not regulate guns the same way? Just common sense," he added.
Many of the recent high-profile shootings around the country have come at the hands of people who were under the age of 25.

I think the voting age should be raised to at least 25. Imagine how much better the country would be if 18-24 year olds couldn’t vote. If they can’t figure out how to get their own health insurance perhaps they shouldn’t be allowed to cast a vote.

When I was in day-camp, maybe age 12 to 14, target shooting with a 22 was part of the program.
I did not, however, buy a gun (22 semi) until I moved to the country. The only time I used it was to shoot a wild dog that killed some of my cats. A neighbor friend gave me a 380 clip load hand gun to keep in my closet.
We kicked out the Limey army twice. We can do the same to one mealy-mouthed Meadow Muffin Brit.

1 - No guns for anyone (not politically connected) under the age of 25.
2 - People over 25 (not politically connected) are turned into Soylent Green or agricultural fertilizer.

It bugs me now: the wide range of "marker-dates" means that, as a society, we don't have a well-defined "now you're a man" age.
(There's 16 for driver's license, 18 for age of majority and tobacco, 21 for alcohol, 25 for insurance/car-rental/health-care...)
LOL! When I was a 21 year old Artillery crew chief, Uncle Sam gave me an 8 inch self-propelled howitzer. Talk about an assault weapon! Piers needs to go home and have mommy change his Huggie and tuck him in.
