Right you are. I would prefer that all of them stay in the senate. Some real good governors out there that can run. But, having said that, Paul is playing politics, and he seems to be good at it. If that were me, and its not, I would lie like a SOB playing the middle ground,
and when I got in, I would jump to the right and dismantle the whole dam thing before the socialist knew what hit them.

Oversight on my part. You might also ask why I forgot to mention Sarah Palin as well who is far and away my first choice.
Mine too!
But I don't think she is going to run. I hope I am wrong.

And that's the weakness libertarians see in conservatives and liberals...the damn near genetic inability to mind their own business. I tend to have more common cause with the righties, but I saw how drunk on power they got last decade and how quickly the libertarians were told to shut up and sit down because they were in charge. There is going to have to be more deeds than words to get them back under the same tent again this time.
If you are equating neocons with conservative, you're just plain wrong.
They are only half-conservative, and I count GWB and those around him in their number.
You (rhetorically speaking) cannot call yourself a conservative and not be a social, fiscal, self-defence, military conservative. If you are missing any of those components, you maybe a big or small 'L' libertarian or a neocon, but you are not a conservative.

Okay, we'll go with your definition, but conservatives helped put the neocons in power and didnt do a whole lot to put them back on their leash so they aren't getting a a full pardon.
I guess the big gripe I would have with conservatives as you have defined them is that they love them some big government. The politicians they rally around talk big on getting government out of our lives but none of them will commit to defunding and eliminating any cabinet level offices and agencies.

No, please do not confuse my definition with your definition. They are not the same. There are people who call themselves conservative that do love big government solutions to problems. You cannot include them in my definition because they do not fit.
Once again, those would be either neo-cons or social conservatives who think like Mike Huckabee and don't have a limited-government bone in their body.
